Ya know…I’ve always wanted to give out tooth paste for Trick or Treat! 🙂
😉
I’m here trying to convince my husband that we need to get this and hand it out for Halloween too. Great minds!
Cheryl, that is awesome! My kid is allergic to peanuts which eliminates a lot of candy. I like to let him enjoy trick or treating and then give away the stuff he can’t have. We love the non-traditional stuff. I say you go for it!!!
I’m with you on “non traditional stuff” My son has allergies too–and it really stinks to have to take pretty much everything. An idea for you…when he was little, while he was out trick or treating, the “Great Pumpkin” would come visit and leave a basket of treats or a toy that he had really been wanting. He could then trade everything that he wasn’t able to eat for the basket. The Great Pumpkin would come back and pick up the candy once he was asleep–and usually deliver it to my husband’s office!
On another note–these tubes would be a GREAT donation to a homeless shelter!
So sweet!
That is such a great idea!
Great idea Cate!
I’ve seen a lot of small and travel sized toothpaste tubes on clearance at Target lately for around $.40 or less as well so if you don’t want to order online check your local store. Also, I don’t want to sound like a Debbie Downer, but no kid is going to be happy getting toothpaste trick or treating… allergic or not, its just not part of the Halloween spirit. It would be like getting a lump of coal for Christmas! lol They would make great additions for donation bags though. 🙂
I disagree. While my kids love candy, they also love having their own travel sized toothpaste that they don’t have to share with their brothers. Maybe we’re weird, but they’d like it!
Something they can use vs a piece of candy they can only look at… not a very hard guess on which they’d pick lol
I just ordered this for the “Homeless Bags” my kids and I are putting together. So this post was truly an answer to prayer. Now to find deals on mini-deodant and lotions….
So AWESOME!! 🙂
Could be used for operation Christmas child boxes as well.
That’s great!
Great idea! I am buying for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, and this is a very real answer to prayer for me, too!
Thanks! We will be able to use these in a Brownie activity later this year. (either with a first aid/hygiene session or to use when we adopt families for Thanksgiving/Christmas).
