I bought two sets of Corelle dishes when my son was born for those reasons. That was 14 yrs ago and I have they do chip and shatter. I have four left! The coffee mugs are stoneware(unless they changed since then). I do like the weightless feeling of the dishes.
Darn! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I have a Corelle set that is about 10 years old. So far we still have all of the pieces! 🤞
Between my mother and I, I’ve never owned any other dishes during my entire life. There have been some instances over the years where a plate or bowl has broken when it was gripped, however the majority of the times have resulted in pieces not chipping or breaking when theyve been dropped. I love my plain winter frost white set…11 years and counting!!
Yay! Thanks a ton for letting us know how well your Corelle dishes have held up through the years!
I have owned so many sets of dishes – all were stoneware & broke. I remembered my grandmother’s dishes growing up were durable & lightweight. I researched a bit & realized they were Corelle. We have had our dishes for 5+ years now (we have a near 8 year old at home) & none of them have broken. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking.
Thanks so much for the recommendation, Beck! Now I want to grab a set!
I have these and LOVE them!! The simple white works for every possible occasion and they’re so sturdy and resilient!
That’s awesome! Thanks for taking the time to comment, Nicole!
