Happy Friday: Encouraging Words from a Stranger

I ordered the Living Social Deal for Skreened.com last month and ordered shirts for all the kiddos that call my brother Uncle. He’s currently deployed in Afghanistan and I wanted them to have something to show their support and love for him so we made shirts with his picture that said, “Uncle Bryan is my Hero.”
This past week we had a scary day with some news from Afghanistan and in the midst of calling families in our unit we received our mail with the completed t-shirts. Enclosed with the t-shirts was a personal note on our invoice from whoever packaged the shirts. “Uncle Bryan is my HERO too!” The words from a stranger brought me to tears. To know that others were proud of my brother and service to our country meant the world to me. You never know what a simple word can mean for a person who needs to hear it.

thanks for sharing this, he is all our hero’s…..I collect coupons for coups for troops its a very time consuming job but it is my little part that I can do for the military familys.

Uncle Bryan is my hero 🙂 and so is his proud sister and family who support him from home 🙂 thanks for sharing! I may not always agree with the war our troops are being asked to fight, but I will always love and respect those who choose to sacrifice so much to fight it

Awesome story! Made me go all misty. We are a military family too and Husband has had to be away from us (3 & 1 year old boys) far too often, in places no one should ever have to be, in situations most people can’t even imagine! It’s so nice to know you received such kind words from a total stranger! I pray Uncle Bryan returns safely home!

Uncle Bryan is my hero, too! As are all of our military personnel, especially my daughter’s Uncle Matt and Uncle Rob. They are amazing people and I am so grateful for all they do. Uncle Bryan will be in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of love!

That is amazing! Thank you Bryan and everyone else who has served/is serving our country. My cousin just graduated from boot camp last Friday and is officially a Navy Sailor and a good friend of mine in the National Guard just left for Afghanistan this week. So proud!
