It seems you can use the credit for any type of card on the site if you have all the Father’s Day cards you need for the next couple of years! I like the designs on this site but the regular price of $4.99 seems high compared to the other internet card companies.
Thanks! I like not having to give my cc info for a freebie 😀
Hey Natalie. Thanks for the price feedback. We pride ourselves on having the the highest quality cards, paying the artists the highest royalty rate in the industry, and ALWAYS including shipping. That is the reason our prices are slightly higher. If you buy one of the plans, card costs are a lot lower ($2.79 a card)
Well, Joel, I have to say, I tried the free card when it was last offered (a few months ago) and spent ages getting a fun card for my brother’s birthday in October. I requested that the card be sent to me, but it was sent to him instead, in MARCH! Not exactly okay in my book. I got the email that it was on its way to him and immediately emailed customer service to attempt to intercept it so it could be mailed to me directly. Well, three weeks later I got an incredibly lame and unapologetic email from customer service saying, essentially, “Sorry, it already went out.”
Wow! I don’t think I would like to ever use your card company again as a result. I am a blogger and have used many of the card companies and they have all been really great to work with and with excellent quality. Until Card Gnome. I just thought you should know. Too late to really undo the damage (a little embarassing to get the card 6 months in advance; makes me look like an idiot), but thought others might want to know. Never actually saw the card so I can’t vouch for the quality. I did like the options though, that was a bright spot.
I don’t know if the sight is down, but I’ve been trying to check out for over 40 min. I got my free credit, but when I get to the checkout page where you have to enter credit card info, it keeps redirecting me back to the same page over and over. What’s worse, I clicked help, and it won’t even let me enter my email address to request assistance.
@ Joel. Thank you for your feedback too. My point was really that there are quite a few internet card companies you are competing against and $4.99 as compared to $2.99 is a big difference. Customers(like me) may not know why there is a difference and may not take the time to find out why. However, I did like your designs and I will take a look at your plan options again after I receive the card. On a side note, I did appreciate being able to choose from any of your cards as I already have my Father’s Day card.
The last time I did one of these “free” card gnome offers (with free shipping advertised), the card was mailed to me COD, and I got a notice saying the I owed $1.50 for postage…
Ooh…..now I am a little worried!
I made a card, but every time I log in using FB it logs me back out before I can do anything.
This took me three tries before it worked. Well worth it though! Thanks so much!!!
What do you mean by three tries? I can’t get it to work. Do you start all over with the liking, etc, and then make your card over and over until it takes? I’m about to give up on this one.
I can’t figure out how to get the free card. I’ve “Liked” and shared and posted and I don’t know what to do from there. Is there a code?
Yay! I was wondering how I was going to get a card to my dad in time, and this works out perfectly! Thanks!
I just tried it now and it worked fine (1st try). I like their selection but do agree with the above comments on price — a little high compared to other sites and with other sites you don’t have to sign up for any plan to get a better deal — they are just priced lower whether you buy 1 or 5 and it matters not it you shop once or once a month. I did like that shiping was included but a stamp is not worth the $2 difference in price — that is just my thought.
The order process was painless, but I was a little shocked by the content in some of the birthday cards. There is an option to filter to adult cards only, but not to filter OUT the adult cards. Odd.
It was quick, easy, and so convenient. I will definitely use this company again. Love it. Thanks!
I wish I could say the same as brodricka! So aggravated! It will not sign in. I shared, but still can’t get may card. arrgh!
That was really depressing I found the funniest card for my dad and it said the promotion was over. That stunk!!! And, I refuse to spend $5 on a card no matter how funny and appropriate it is. I was really looking forward to seeing my dad’s face when he opened it.
Hi Laura – I’m sorry to hear about your issues, as an entrepreneur, that makes me feel really terrible. If you want to email me (support@cardgnome.com) or tweet at my JoelWish I’d love to chat privately and look into the issues more closely
Jennifer – During Mother’s Day a handful of cards did not go out with the proper postage (someone just didn’t stick the extra stamps on!) but we caught it the next day and shipped all those cards out next day air to the intended recipients and paid the shipping ourselves. All card orders went out smoothly for Father’s Day!
Brodicka – Awesome!!!
Leslie/Carol – You needed to participate through the promo at the top of the page. If it wasn’t there, then you missed the deadline. Sorry!
Rachael – You found the perfect card and didn’t want to spend the extra couple bucks on the card? I’d love to hear more about your thoughts on pricing. Can you tweet to me at @JoelWish?
