easy citrus paloma cocktail recipe

If you’re looking for a refreshing and unique summer cocktail, try making a Citrus Paloma! This popular tequila-based drink is similar to a Margarita but has a grapefruit fizzy twist. Use any citrus grapefruit soda and your favorite combo of fresh citrus fruits like limes, lemons, grapefruits, or oranges. We actually have a large Mexican lime tree that produces mini limes in my backyard so I chose to add limes and a fresh grapefruit for my version below – so good!

On a side note, a few readers asked for my favorite Margarita recipe in the comment section of a recent post. Margaritas and my stomach just do not get along well (too sweet for me!) and I think these Citrus Palomas are a great option in place of a Margarita!

Yum, these look so refreshing and good! Lina, I was hoping you and/or Collin might do a post or video on cheap yet cool lunchbox ideas for the kids. I am gonna try to pack all my kids lunches this year because the school lunches have yet again went up in price for food that is just so so. I know Collin did one in the past before my child started school that I plan to refer back to and if anyone else has some neat ideas that would be great too.

Do you think you could use just regular grapefruit juice because I don’t drink soda?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Sure! Maybe even some sparkling water or club soda to make it fizz?

    • Cyn

Safeway’s tangerine grapefruit flavored water (no sodium or calories ) just as good, in my opinion!

    • Michelle

I make mine by squeezing grapefruit straight into the glass. Soooo good! It usually takes two grapefruit if they are small.

Fresca is a grapefruit flavored soda and calorie free!! Cheers!

  5. Barb

I love Paloma’s! I make mine with grapefruit juice and sprite with a dash of salt and lime juice. They are also good without the soda.
