Make These Baked Honey BBQ Chicken Wings for Game Day
These honey BBQ wings are the perfect game-day baked chicken wings.
Love restaurant-style chicken wings?
Chicken wings are one of my family’s favorite appetizers to order at restaurants, and yet they are honestly super simple and money-saving to make at home! These are perfect for snacking on during the big game, and really easy enough to bake any day of the week.
Gooey baked honey BBQ wings are a family FAVE!
My kids never cared for traditional Buffalo wing sauce when they were younger because of the spice level; however, they could always take down a plate of honey BBQ flavor at any time, so it’s a family favorite for sure.
These deliciously sweet and smoky honey BBQ wings are baked to perfection in the oven and the result is a tender chicken wing on the inside and a crispy, sticky sauced texture on the outside. Dip them in some ranch or blue cheese dressing for a fantastic snack or meal.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Pat the wings dry, and season them with salt, garlic, pepper, cayenne pepper, and paprika.

Spray a cookie sheet orĀ broiler panĀ withĀ cooking spray.
4
Place the wings in a single layer on the pan, and place them in the oven.

Cook for 35-40 minutes, depending on the size of the wings, turning once halfway through cooking.
6
While the wings are baking, make the sauce by mixing all the sauce ingredients together.

When the wings are done baking, carefully dip them in the sauce, and place them back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling. That's it, now you can enjoy your perfect honey BBQ wings!
Tips for making fantastic honey BBQ chicken wings:
- For optimum crispness, I recommend baking wings on a cooking rack stacked on top of a baking sheet pan so they crisp up well on both sides and cook evenly. For easy clean-up, use parchment paper.
- I buy a huge bag of frozen chicken wings at Costco and keep them in a deep freezer outside. When we are in the mood for wings, it’s easy to take some out to thaw in the fridge!
- If you’d like a spicy sauce, feel free to add more hot sauce to taste or use a spicy BBQ sauce! Wings are very easy to adapt.
- Crispy chicken wings are also easy to make using the air fryer! Place about 10 of them in the basket in a single layer and cook for around 30 minutes at 370 degrees.
We reserved some of the sauce for dipping, and it was excellent. I hope you enjoy these honey BBQ wings as much as my family does!
These four cheese dips are another tantalizing appetizer to make for game day!
I’ve never made homemade chicken wings so I was a little nervous but I’ve never seen my husband devour 15 wings so fast in my life! He absolutely loved these! I highly recommend using the broiler pan. The sauce was perfect!

I always bake my wings. I also bought wire racks a Dollar tree to use inside cookie sheets lined with tin foil, works great!

how would i make these in the air fryer
I have never tried to make chicken wings myself but these were great. I had 8 lbs so I didn’t use the broiler but that would even be better. They were great! Thank you for this recipe!
Omg! They look incredibly DELICIOUS š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤
Thanks so much!
For wings always go crispier – just the right side of burnt. And dump the wings into the bowl of sauce – get your hands messy coating them. And FYI – in Buffalo we donāt call them buffalo wings (and there isnāt a ābuffalo sauceā), they are just wings and you pick your sauce.
I am going to try it with chicken tenders. My brothers won’t eat wings or drumsticks, not enough meat they argue….. I’ll let you know if it works.
These were GREAT! Iāve always been intimidated to try making wings, but this recipe seemed easy, and with ingredients I had on hand. My husband LOVED them!! This recipe is a keeper for sure!
Oh yay! That is so great to hear Amy!!
