Oh goodie! I’ll be stocking up for my son’s first birthday! Fiesta-themed & we are having a nacho bar!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That sounds super fun and Yummy!

Wonder if the free egg coupon would go with this too

This is a good deal – I usually try to get in right when it opens, many times they will have $1-3 off stickers on the individual packages as well. When I get them home, I freeze them in individual 1lb bags, smooshed flat. They thaw that way in seriously like an hour, less in the defroster in the microwave, so they’re great for those days when you forgot to take something out for dinner!

Hi Katie I did this yesterday and was able to get the meat $2 the pound with the stickers!

Our store does it at night, roughly around 7 pm. Also check dates, if it’ll expire the next day, they 90% of the time will give me a discount. Works at the grocery store too.

Here’s a tip: thaw it on a cast iron skillet. It’ll thaw much faster than just sitting on the counter.

I love to do this too–you can get great deals!

  5. Abby

    $1.99/lb. at Gordon’s!

Any idea what the lean ratio is? I’m guessing it looks like 80-20. If that’s the case; that’s about average sale price at any real grocery store.

Wondering this too. I try to get 85/15 at 2.99/lb in my area

      • Mamasweetpea

Yes, I think it’s not too bad if I get 85/15 all natural beef at 2.99/lb. I don’t trust ground beef from all grocers

    • Bre

Really my grocery store is usually $4.99 a pound for ground beef. I think this is a great deal.

I stock up when it’s $1.99 at Fresh Thyme or jewel in Illinois. Only problem is most of the time fresh thyme is previously frozen and I don’t like to freeze previously frozen meet so I end up cooking it before I freeze it

Off topic…I did the baby deal twice when it was posted. One being shipped and one in store pick up. The one that was shipped overcharged my account by almost $2 and the one picked up in store undercharged my account by almost $1. I called Target and they were no help; suggested my bank was at fault. Anybody else have this problem? TIA!

FYI Target treats their meat with carbon monoxide to keep it looking red longer. You know which packages have been treated as they are the air tight ones that say “color is not an indicator of freshness” in tiiiiiny print. I got sick once after eating their meat (major migraine and I knew it was due to a chemical bc of how I felt) and did some research. A lot of stores now treat their meat with carbon monoxide and the FDA does not require the label to indicate so. This is just a heads up for those who don’t want their meat treated with artificial things. Many/most probably won’t get as sick as I did, but I figure since breathing carbon monoxide will kill me, I don’t want to be eating it either.

Every Tuesday The Fresh Market chain (comparable to a smaller version of Whole Foods) sells their 80/20 ground chuck for 2.99 (reg. 6.99). No coupon needed.

Local independent supermarkets sometimes have three-day sales of 1.99.

Find & save has 1% cash back when you spend $10 at Target. If you are new to find & save, please use 98C3 to sign up. It gives you cash back on various in store purchases. When you reach $25, they transfer funds to your paypal

This is a great deal! In my area, ground beef is $4.00 a pound and up.
