Wow, guess I’m cheap but even that clearance price seems expensive! Who would pay that much just for something to throw garbage into?

    • Fran

Not me!!! But my daughter! LOL

    • Happymama

We redid our kitchen ourselves. We spent a lot of money and time, got all new stainless appliances and the old stained plastic white trash can had to go. When you put it in perspective, $44 isn’t much to match the can to the very expensive appliances. Just sayin:)

      • K.

        Omg, get a life lol

    • C

People like me apparently, who buy 99$ garbage cans so they look nice with my stainless appliances. Why? Because I work my butt off all week long and make decent money, and it doesn’t bother me one bit! Haha, It’s a great brand, works great for me. I like saving money too and I coupon, however I have no problem spending more money on something when it’s worth it to me.

That’s an awesome price! I finally got this one (wanted one for years and paid my dues with those white plastic trash cans) 2 weeks ago at Target for $69.99 because I knew these rarely were discounted. I love it and standard trash bags fit in it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your feedback Mel! Glad to hear how nice it is!

  3. Jodie Finney

Cant fathom paying 45.00 for something to hold my trash!

    • Kayla

Well I can, and I have, and it works great!

  4. gilly

Can anyone tell me if this can will take the trash out by itself as well?

I’m torn on whether to get it and that’s the dealbreaker.

    • Tara

      Haha!

  5. Julia

Looks like the coupon is only valid through 3/5.

    • Julia

Oh, I’m ridiculous and hadn’t updated my watch for leap year. My bad!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! You gained an extra day! 😉

  6. Kelly

Thanks Collin, this is an amazing price for these. I paid almost as much for two of the small versions and I love them! I never thought I would say that about a trash can…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  7. Samantha

Just bought mine!!! Thanks Colin! This is actually a great price! And it’s a Simplehuman that’s why it’s pricy but it’s the best and a 10 year warranty goes along with it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad you could snag one! YW!

Aldi had a pretty nice looking stainless trash can as a special a couple of weeks ago for $30. I just picked one up on “clearance” for $25. And I thought that was expensive. Lol. I guess I got a deal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great score!

  9. Mb9826

I have wanted this for about a year but refused to pay 100.00 for it. Thanks Collin! I’m so excited that I was able to find one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Your’e welcome!

I just checkled and their is no way I can spend $69.98 for a trash can.

  11. Haseena

Too bad I don’t have space in my kitchen to show off this bad boy 🙁 or I would’ve been all over this deal. As of now I just have to stick to
my tiny white plastic trash can in the cabinet under the sink.

  12. Liz Ob

I paid this price for a different brand trash can at Walmart and love it! Frugal me paid for it ($50) with overage from couponing. It’s nice to spend the money we save on life’s little luxuries. It is slightly smaller but that’s good cuz we take out smelly food bag every day anyways. But i need another bigger trash can for recycling and to match the food trash can. Thank you hip2save! And a few targets away from me actually have this for 29.98 on clearance wooooooo!

  13. Edy

I’m going to get me one too! I bought one at bath bed and beyond for my kitchen and my lovely husband was really upset because he liked the big can that holds lots of trash so he didn’t had to take it out only 2 times a week !! So, I said no this way we take trash out every day !! Love it !! And now I’m going to get one for the restroom !!! I work a lot and I deserve it !! Just like my kitchen aid mixer my ninja blender which he just saw the sale price and he said you paid this much for it ??? I said no I paid 149 less for the blender now he won’t argue with me !!

I’m kinda amazed at people so snarkily (made that word up) defending their purchase of this trash can. Why so defensive? It’s awesome if you love it, and can afford it, and it matches your appliances, etc. but all things being relative, it’s pretty hard to deny that it is expensive for a trash can. I have no dog in this fight, as they say, but just wanted to … defend, I guess? … those who commented that it’s expensive. To each his own, I truly feel that way, so I’m not being sparky myself by posting this but C’MON people … even if you’re a billionaire, you have to see their perspective and admit that this is expensive for a trash can. It’s nice, though. 🙂

I agree. I think it’s expensive. Paying $50 or more for a kitchen trash can is nuts. I’m old school, I guess. I had my old plastic one with the swinging top for many years and it was just fine and I paid about $10 bucks for it at a local discount type store. It served the purpose and I cleaned it every week and it still looked new after more than 15 years in my kitchen. Unfortunately, we had a fire in our apt. and it got all smoke damaged so I had to throw it out since it was impossible to clean. The store no longer carries these trash cans so I cannot find another one like it. I can’t believe how much prices for trash cans have gone up. I’m not a fan of stainless steel anything, so paying a ton of money for a stainless steel trash can doesn’t appeal to me, but to each his own. I’m still trying to find a decent priced plastic one for my kitchen that’s round and not huge. No luck so far.

  15. Billie

It does seem like a lot of money for a trash can, but I’ve had mine about 10 years, and it still looks and works like the day I bought it! Worth every penny!

  16. Lauren

My husband and I have been talking about getting a trash can like this for 4 years. This is too good of a price to pass on again. We found the last one in our store. Thank you! I’m always willing to pay a little more for this kind of quality.

  17. Tara

I just noticed the other day Target even had simple human. I’ve been debating for weeks now over this one and the plastic version at bed bath and beyond bc they have a dark gray option I’m thinking could look good with stainless too. For this price I would grab it at target..but I checked the store by me that showed 1 and no luck. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled now when I stop in other ones

Don’t they sell a similar one at Costco for almost the same price and it comes with a mini trash can? Maybe that was a while back….We used to have a big trash can and when we moved, the kitchen is much smaller and I didn’t want the big trash can close to the table, so it’s now in the garage for plastic bottles for recycling $. We switched to small trash can under the sink and empty it almost every day, (though more wasteful on trash bags) but I think is better because the trash doesn’t stay inside the house for a long time, less probability of ants/bugs invading the kitchen.
