This is one of the greatest inventions ever! I absolutely love that I can “vacuum” everyday without having to do any work. I still run my regular vacuum about once a week, but I will never go without my Roomba. We love it so much in my familiy we gave her a name… Reba the Roomba. Now instead of me saying I need to vacuum, I say I need to let Reba play 🙂

Totally agree, Mandy. Not a replacement for a good ol’ deep clean but, yes, I am “vacuuming” right now! I am always amazed at the dust and small granules it picks up when I empty the well (or whatever that is called). Another tip too, if you have long hair as I do, you do have to clean the rollers more often as they do get wrapped around.

I’m vacuuming right now, too!!! My Roomba is named “Robert”!! Haha. We say “Can you let Robert out?” It is the best. I usually put Robert out before I go to the grocery store or run errands. It is so nice to come home to a clean house. Sometimes Robert gets into shenanigans, though. I let him out earlier this morning and he got caught up in my daughter’s dust ruffle and was dead when I came home. But, it’s a small price to pay for me to be able to do other stuff downstairs while he vacuums upstairs.

Too funny, Holly! I do not have a name for mine — I probably should though. Agree though they can get into some precarious situations.

Thanks for such awesome feedback Mandy!

Love, love, love, oh, did I say I love my Roomba!!! We are on our second Roomba now, not because it was defective or anything, it was simply over-use. Caution, if you have a lot of “stuff” in the house it has to go around, I don’t think it would be good (just my recommendation). We have a Rat Terrier mix and are constantly running it to pick up after her.

Thanks for your review Lisa! Glad to hear how well it works!

I just ordered the Roomba 761 from Kohl’s during their 30% off. My complaint about this machine (and all Roombas) is that it bounces off of the walls or furniture and makes it go in a super random pattern which makes it skip the major part of the room that I want clean. It was recommended to me to try the Neato which goes in straight patterns and puts nice straight lines in your carpet.

Thanks so much for sharing Keri!

I really want one of these. But I have a question for those who own one. I have a sunken leaving room and sunken family room. Will it know not to go down there. Or will it fall overboard lol
    TIA

    • dropofrain

it has sensors and shouldn’t fall over stairs. At first I was putting a couple of boxes on the step -just in case- so it wouldn’t fall but then i watched it going to the edge, stopping, and turning back.

    • Holly

Mariela, I have a bi-level house, so my living room is open right onto our foyer below by about 5-6 feet. It senses the drop and backs right off. The first time I stood right under the living room on the stairs and waited until it came close, just in case. Haha. But it went about 2 inches over the edge and backed right off.

I’m so sick that I missed this! I’ve been waiting on a Roomba deal!

  8. Rebecca

I received a roomba for Christmas after mentioning to my family how everyone here loved their’s. I now love mine! Named her Consuela. Love how she gets under furniture I don’t normally vacuum under and love how she works in one room, while I work in another! Love, love, love mine.

Great name Rebecca! Thanks for sharing! 😉
