Postage Stamps

UPDATE: Quad Readers Program has asked me to update this post and state that they are currently reviewing the emails they have received. They have also asked that no more emails be sent at this time.

If you could snag 10 FREE postage stamps per month by simply investing a minute or so of your time on a daily basis, would you be interested?!

If you said YES, you may want to sign up for the Quad Readers Club where you’ll receive 10 postage stamps on a monthly basis in exchange for reporting approximately 130 earmarked mailings (including catalogs, postcards and envelopes) that will be delivered to your home each month. You will be asked to call a toll-free number to report which pieces of mail arrived on a particular day and in what condition they arrived. It’s that simple! 😀

Mailbox

To sign up, send an email to EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED PER REQUEST OF QUAD READERS. Let them know that you are interested in joining this program and be sure to include your name, address, city, state, zip, home phone, day phone, and email address. Keep in mind that they may not have openings in all locations but should respond to your email within 2-3 business days.

FAQ’s About the Quad Readers Club

What will be expected of me?
If you join the program and receive a seed ID number, you will be expected to call-in your receipt date of each specially marked QRC item as soon as possible. If you are unable to participate in this program for a period of time (this would include vacations, hospitalizations, etc.), they ask that you input this information into the Quad Readers Club system by using your phone key pad. Note that once you become activated, information on how to report will be sent to you.

How long will this last?
They ask that once you get onboard with the QRC program that you commit to a year of service. A number of our volunteers have continued reporting for years. They do understand that there may be extenuating circumstances that could cause you to request an earlier inactivation.

What do I do with the Quad Readers Club items once I receipt them?
After reporting receipt of each mail piece you do not need to do anything more with the QRC item. You may recycle or pass the item on to someone else. If you decide to order from any of the catalogs, do not use any codes that are on the label. When placing an order, say that you received the catalog from a friend; otherwise you may begin to receive duplicates and won’t know which is which.

What do I get for my efforts?
Once you start recording receipt dates, as a thank you for your participation, you will receive 10 postage stamps on a monthly basis. Their only requirement is that you maintain an 85% response rate.

That sure sounds like a lot of work for approximately $5 in stamps per month!

    • Hope

lol seriously. I suppose it may be worth it to SOMEONE though.

      • marie

For real! That sounds very time consuming. 5-7 pieces of mail a day you have to report on?!

        • Lori

I’ve done this for several years. Very easy and I’ve never had to buy any stamps 🤷‍♀️

    • Christy

😀 was thinking the same thing!

  2. Rebe

I would love the feedback of those doing it. I already emailed and they said the average is 5-7 pieces of mail, 6 days a week. That sounds like a lot of work (and paper!) for some stamps. The only plus that would make pull the plug is keeping magazines for the kids (I already get plenty of free magazines for me). For those doing it, most people get nice freebies or is mostly junk mail and catalogs? Thanks!

    • katie

I used to get the Ranger Rick and Ranger Rick Jr magazines from them and would give them to my nephew, but lately it’s been Wall Street Journal letters (I think it’s a mock subscription renewal) and catalogs. I definitely don’t get 5-7 pieces 6 days a week. For me, it’s more like 2-4 pieces 4 times a week. For me, it’s totally worth it!

  3. Lydia

I just got approved the other day! Received my welcome packet in the mail today!

  4. Kari

I’ve been with qrc for several years. It really doesn’t take much time. I like it because it pays for my Christmas cards and other random mailings. They usually send a special gift around Thanksgiving also. (A couple of years it was a tin of nuts and this year it was fudge.)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh awesome! Thanks for the feedback!

    • Mary

      Kari,
I am also a member or QRC and love it! It does not take much time at all. things have been really hectic at my house this past week and somehow I’ve managed to misplace-loose the phone number to call…..could you please give it to me?

      Mary

  5. NavyMom

I signed up a few weeks ago! Just received my first pieces of mail. Super easy to do! When I first Googled it, a post you wrote from years ago popped up!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How funny! 😀 Thanks for the feedback!

  6. Moni B.

Intriguing! So you’ll basically get paid in stamps so that your junk mail load increases! Hmmmm. 130 additional pieces of mail a month equals about 4 extra mail pieces a day. Fairly easy to track & you’ll get $60 worth of stamps a year. Gotta think on this one.

  7. Sarakate25

Signed up? Will see 🙂 thx

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW!

  8. katie

I’ve been doing it for a few years now. I love it! There are many days when I don’t get anything from them. In the month or 2 before Christmas, you get a little more (probably 5-7 a day). If I looked in my phone log, though, the longest call I made reporting these was probably about 2 minutes. It’s super fast and you don’t have to talk to anyone. I hardly ever mail anything, so doing this program has made it so I never have to buy stamps. I always have a bunch of stamps in my drawer. I think it’s totally worth the minute or 2 a few times a week.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the feedback Katie!

  9. Michelle

I’ve been doing this for several years. We don’t really use stamps aside from Christmas cards, so I do it and it basically pays for those. I usually get one day a week that’s heavier with mail, maybe 10 ish items. Most days have 1-2 and it literally takes me less than a minute. Some of these magazines my kids enjoy reading so it’s a bonus without paying for their subscription.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing your experience Michelle!

  10. debi

Can you just try it a month and see if you like it, then cancel?

  11. Sarah C

That’s what I’m interested in….what kind of mail are y’all getting? It really would be worth it for some mag sub ESP for kiddos…

  12. Rosi

do they accept PO boxes or just regular mailing address?

  13. Beth

I have been doing this for several years. I don’t get something everyday. When you do get something, honestly it takes maybe 3 minutes to call in. Around Christmas you get more but honestly it is worth it to me. My kids like the free magazines. I haven’t bought a stamp since I started doing this.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the review Beth! Good to know!

  14. denise

thanks Collin. I really don’t like going to post office for stamps. I am home all day anyway so why not!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  15. Amber

I signed up about a month ago and got a welcome packet right after. Today I received my first catalog and the call in took less than a minute.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! Thanks for sharing Amber!

  16. Mom

I think it’s sad and judgmental that some folks feel compelled to reply with sarcasm. Everyone’s financial situation is different. For some folks, these stamps help defray the cost of rebates, which may be part of a family’s food budget. If it’s not a deal for you personally, just hit the back button and move on to the next option that Collin takes the time to share with us. Happy Easter everyone!

    • Holly

No kidding. I did this a few years ago when my husband was laid off, and every dollar we saved was worth it. Still need stamps to get those Free-after-rebate deals. EVERY little bit helps.

    • GA

      Agreed!

  17. Sarah C

And…what I was thinking as I read this…heck that’s at least $50 if you’re sending in envelopes for the Victoria’s Secret reward cards!!! 😁 thanks for ALL you do Collin! 💗

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Sarah!

  18. Mary

I’m not sure about this one. I’d like to give it a try, but honestly hate to because of the terrible us postal system in my area! I’m lucky to get my regular mail, much less the extra 5-7 a day! Lol!

    • Kim

I know!!! Usually get everybody else’s mail and then they leave the mailbox open so I usually find it across the road. Yup.

      • Mary

Ha! You must have the same mailman I have! 😂

        • Ami

You all must live in South Florida too!!!! I once got my mail delivered at 8:58pm and many other days, it’s delivered so late the mailman wears a lamp/flashlight headband type thing so he can see the numbers on the mailboxes. Some days there are no deliveries. If our regular carrier is out, we are out of luck.

  19. ohiogirl

Thanks Collin. Just sent my email request to join. This would be great to save on stamps and not have to make a special trip when I need them.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW!

  20. Christine

Frees stamps would be nice but this is so wasteful. I doubt I get anything is want to get and I hate wasting paper 🙁

  21. Alyssa

Hmmmm. If I start this note, I should have enough stamps for my wedding invitations, plus some extras for thank yous

  22. Christine

I have been a member for over 5 + years and it has been totally worth it. (As a member they refer to you as a “Seed” and I agree with other members that around holidays you tend to get more catalogs.
Some of the perks are that you get codes for some discounts when ordering from a company you plan on buying from anyway. For ex : I used codes for Payless shoes in store to buy slippers for my hubby. LL Bean also has promo codes as well as Talbots.

The mailings you receive are based on your location it seems, as they mail you a listing of what company’s they are contracted with each month in a newsletter ( note that it does change as the add and delete new and old customers) when you receive your stamps. The company’s that are contracted with them use the reporting date of the mailings received to properly staff for phone orders etc.
Here is a list of some of the mailings you may receive:
American Girl, Barbie, big Backyard, Brylane, Big & Tall factory direct, Casual Male,Cheryl & Co, Collections Edition, Figis, Fingerhut, Ginny’s,Lillian Vernon, LL Bean, Montgomery Ward, National Wildlife, ( This one I give to the teachers so they have pics for the kids to cut out for projects at school). Ranger Rick, Seventh Ave, Swiss Colony, Talbots, Through the Country door, Wall Street journal, Weight watchers,Wisteria, WineCountry Gift Baskets.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh wow! Thanks so much for sharing Christine!

      • Christine

        Hi Collin,
I am an actual member as stated and was just trying to help your readers with my comments.
This pays ALL my postage for the year and takes little effort. I really was just trying to help my fellow Hipsters.

        • Brittany

How do you know the mail is from them versus junk mail?

          • Christine

            Hi Brittany,
The mail that I get from QRC states so in the address line before my name and has QRC and a 8 digit reporting number that I punch in my phone to report.
I have a phone on my desk that I use, I hit speaker and the dial to report and they prompt me thru.
Once you get the hang of it you really don’t need to listen to the prompts, just punch the code and hit 1 for rec’d today or 2 for rec’d yesterday. If for some reason you report later they give you a prompt to key in date of receipt. ( this gets time consuming to me!)
I generally do day of I receive or next day as it takes less time.

            • Brooke M

I lost my magnet with the phone number to call in my magazines, can you please help! Thank you!!

              • Connie

                Brooke M,the number is,1-800258-5874.Sorry I didn’tsee this earlier,enjoy.

  23. ihearthip

Do you have to call that very day it arrives or could you call the next day if you needed to?

    • Christine

They ideally like you to report ASAP but yes, I have reported the next day. And if it is longer than that they still let you select the day you received the mailing, but they keep track of sluggish members and will advise if you fall below their needed responses. The value for their service to their clients is as I stated in my previous post is knowing when a publication was received so they can staff their phone lines correctly for order taking. Hope this helps!
Also every year they send me gift from one of their food catalog clients around Xmas. Happy Easter to all :~} But a very special thank you to Mrs. Hip and her team…you go girl!!

  24. Michelle

I LOVE getting mail so this would be super fun! I love catalogs however and since we just moved in January I don’t get as much as i used to so I would love to see what new stuff would get sent my way! And now that we moved we have a huge mailbox that doesn’t leak water so sounds good to me! Signed up finger’s crossed!

  25. Gloria

I have a feeling some of those commenting about how GREAT this is, are probably affiliated with the company…..(it happens all the time) This sounds wasteful to me. However, if you aren’t one of those being paid to write reviews, would enjoy/read the mail and have extra time on your hands, go for it.

  26. Mary

lol at the posts pretending this is so great. How much are you guys being compensated? I can understand having an interest in this if you send a lot of mail and have lots of time on your hands, but a few of these posts sound a bit “off”.

  27. Jennifer

I did it for a few years. I only stopped because I have a ton of stamps now and only mail things about 2x a year :). It really only takes a few minutes. Sometimes, I would write the date on the top of the pieces when I received it and called in and did a few days worth at a time.

  28. Cindy

Wow, I’m floored by all the doubters. I’ve been doing qrc for years now, and I love the program! On days when I get mail to call in, the average call takes a minute (I’ve timed it) and is so easy. The magazines go to the break room at work and catalogs are recycled. I have more forever stamps than I know what to do with 🙂 I use them for letters, bills, rebates, packages, free postage is great! I have never once regretted signing up.

  29. Annie

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but why chastise others who have a different opinion from you? The Hip2save community is a diverse group. We should be informing and uplifting each other. If you disagree with something go ahead and say so. But don’t get defensive when someone disagrees with you.

    • Cindy

Seriously? You’re picking on me when there are so many posts above mine basically calling all the positive reviews fake or paid for? My reaction to those was surprise more than defensiveness. I guess I don’t see the point of knocking something without even trying it first. If someone has the time to post here, then that person has enough time to enter a couple QRC codes and get free stamps 🙂 And to answer questions about which stamps, the QRC folks always send ten of the newest ones along with a blurb about the meaning behind the design.

  30. ranaeleona

This intrigues me since I am a stamp collector. 🙂 Can anyone who does this tell me what kind of stamps you get? Are the ten stamps all the same? Is it just the usual flag stamps? Or do you receive more of a variety/interesting stamps?
    Thanks in advance!

    • yluthien

i WAS GOING TO ASK THE SAME THING! Totally doing this to save for my wedding invitations!

    • Cindy

The 10 stamps are the same, but the design each month is different, sometimes seasonal like those gorgeous heart stamps at the top of Collin’s post, sometimes famous people, sometimes cultural like the Batman comic series. I love seeing what they send each month — the latest 10 were spring flowers 🙂

      • ranaeleona

        Thanks Cindy! Sounds fun!!

  31. Kristine

I have been doing Quad Readers for about three years now. A majority of the catalogs come on Monday then few others during the week. It’s really not that big of a deal. All you have to do is call a number – enter a 4 digit number – enter the quad number on the catalog – and the date you received it. Each one takes about 15 – 20 seconds to enter. I save all my stamps for the VS Rewards Promotion. 🙂 Plus you get a nice gift at the end of the year. A tin of high quality nuts or a box of high quality fudge. I’m not a lazy person and I’m constantly keeping myself busy so it really doesn’t phase me about the short amount of time it takes to call them in. Saving money is saving money (Period)

    • anon

is the phone number for quad readers a 800# or at least toll-free

      • Cindy

Yes, you call a toll-free number to report your mail.

        • anon

          !!SUPERCALAFRAGALISTIC!!
this program sounds perfect for our small household

  32. YG

    Signed up and we’ll see.

  33. Hannah

    Are these forever stamps?

    • Christine

Yes they are forever stamps. You get really neat stamps each month that are themed and are 10 of the same stamps.
One month I received Harry Potter stamps and gave them to my niece to use for mailing invitations to her daughters HP themed party. She was so excited and thought it was awesome .

  34. Jessica S

I am NOT affiliated with them in any way….other than the fact that I have been a member for a few years now. I haven’t paid for stamps once during that time! 130 pieces of mail sounds overwhelming, but it’s really not! Some days you get none, some days 1 or 2…and about once a week I’ll get maybe 6 or so. It’s all automated. All you do is dial and punch in your numbers. It only takes a few minutes on the heaviest days.
The only “downfall” is your increase in “trash”. If you have recycling there are no worries. I like looking through a lot of the catalogs, and pass along whatever I can.

  35. Mimi

How long does it take for you to hear you have been approved? I emailed them a few weeks ago and never heard a response.

  36. Brooke M

Help!!! I lost the magnet with the phone number!! Well a QRC member please share!!

  37. Debbie

How do I join for magazines and free stamps

  38. Debbie

I really want to join. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you!!!!

  39. Kim callahan

    How do I join?

  40. Connie

  41. Sylvia Kalies

I have been a member for about 10 yrs and enjoy doing it and going through the catalogs. Lately I get about 1 piece a week, what happened? Nothing is coming in the mail. This is the first time I have written

  42. Patti Rogers

I have been a member of the Quad Reader’s for years. It is so easy to report the mailings that you receive. It is also great to be able to read the mailings of interest. It does not take long to report the day’s mailing. You place a call, and report on each mailing for the day. Usually, less than 5 minutes per day.
Please contact me for your updated phone number.

  43. Barbara Pinaire

9/30/21 Haveb’t had any publications in a couple of weeks, what seems to be the problem? I do miss both the mailings & making a quick phone call. Has the # changed?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Sorry to hear this. This is a much older post and I’m not finding further details on this company. Hoping you might hear back from them soon!
