If you look it up on Amazon there are a lot of reviews – in oven or bbq thermometers can be a little finicky and they are easy to break or melt but overall this seems to have good feedback. I’m going to get one for my dad for Father’s day!! Thanks Collin!
I use one of these in my smoker to monitor the temperature inside the smoker as well as the temperature of the meat. When you are smoking something for hours, such as a pork butt, it is quite convenient. The gauges on the outside of smokers are notorious for being inaccurate; also, I am not having to open the smoker door often to monitor the meat. It is also a great way to monitor what’s on your grill while you are inside preparing side dishes, etc. That’s not lazy. By the way, I don’t agree with your comment about it being aimed at 1%-ers–I have a very inexpensive smoker and it is a wonderful way to make an inexpensive cut of meat, like a pork butt, taste like a bite of heaven. 😉
