Have anyone use these brand. Is it good? It will be my first time buying a cast iron.
I did love it! Until last name when I put the Lodge Reversible Grill/Iron Griddle on my gas top stove and as I was just getting ready to put chicken on it, it cracked! I was shocked. I have used the grill several times since purchasing in earlier this year with no problems.I have several pieces and this is the first bad experience.
Absolutely good. A must have, in my opinion.
I”ve used it and love it. They are made in the USA which is a plus for me. I am bummed some of the sizes are already sold out.
Thanks for the feedback Sunny! Glad to hear how much you have liked them!
$5 off coupon does not work?
How odd. I am still finding it to work for me at checkout. Do you have a purchase of $50 or more?
We have recently switched from teflon coated pans to cast iron. These do require more maintenance but knowing that I’m not feeding teflon poison to kids trumps the extra work.
I recommend America’s Test Kitchen book on cast iron pan cooking. It has an excellent primer on handling and maintenance one should do on these to keep them in shape.
Thanks DD, i will look for it.
How cool! Thanks for the helpful feedback!
So many of them are out of stock
When I click on the 12″ skillet the price is showing $19.99 not $16.99. Was the deal only for a couple hours?
Hi there! Try adding that one to your cart to find the sale price. I found that to work for me! Hope this helps!
When I add it to my cart, it still Shows up as 19.99 (12 in. ). The cook code takes of $4. Is the sale over?
How odd, are you by chance on a mobile device? Sometimes that can cause issues.
is not working for me either… and neither is code cook….
Are you on a mobile device? If not, maybe try in a different browser. Hope this helps!
I had the same problem on my phone. I switched to the iPad and it worked just fine.
Thank you so much!! I almost bought one at Kroger last week for $20!
You’re welcome Jessica! Happy you could score the deal!
Worked for me, both the cook code and the $5/$50. Thanks!
Yay! Glad to hear it Lynn! You’re very welcome!
Now that we are talking about iron skillets i have a question how to you season it??i washed it dried it and rub vegetable oil all over. Then i put it in yhe oven at 325 for 45 minutes let it cool and things still get stuck to it and the oil seems to be only around the edges. I also tried to do that on the stove but it seats around the edges again…..
TIA
I wash the skillet, dry it, warm it on stove on low heat, rub vegetable oil on it with a paper towel, keep on low heat for few more minutes and let it cool. Over time food stops sticking to pan. I hope this helps 😉
Sandy,
I love cooking with cast iron. I use a product called Crisbee to season all my cast iron, vintage and new. Makes cleaning easy and creates a non-stick finish. You can google it and purchase online. Hope this helps!
