This is awesome! I went to my local Savers today and spent 11bucks on a (2)pair of jeans and pajama bottoms! I love 50% off day! Just in time for back to school!
AWESOME!!
Could you please tell how can I find out when they have the sales?
We don’t have this in Michigan but a lot of the thrift stores are half off on the last Tuesday of every month. Makes for good deals!!
Sweet, thanks for letting us know!
I’m in Michigan too–jealous of this store!!
so jealous! No stores within any reasonable distance for me, but my local consignment store is starting their big summer clear out next weekend with 50% off or $5 (whichever is less) and they lower it to $3, $2, $1, then as much as you can fit into a HUGE bag for $10 over the course of about a week
love shopping second hand!
I’m not saying not to shop there, but this is for profit if anyone thought otherwise. I was led to believe this was in the likes of Goodwill.
they are affiliated with big brothers big sisters. I support them 100%…
I really resent what goodwill has become. Their prices have gotten insane and just look at what their ceo makes. I know the million dollar figures that float around are false, but he did clear over $700K in 2011 according to the IRS. just sayin….
You might wanna do your research on good will if you think there a good organization.
Exactly. Their CEO makes millions. Their disabled employees (not in the thrift stores) make less than minimum wage. I donate to the local shelter thrift store as all the $$$$ stays local.
Each store partners with a different charity, but you are 100% correct, Savers (or Value Village) is a for profit business. They donate only a very, very small % (based on the weight of donations) to their charitable partner. I still shop there, but I wish it was more transparent.
We used to donate to Goodwill all the time. Now, we donate to anyone but Goodwill. This change occurred when our local Goodwill store required that we clean, fold, and organize all of our donations so that they don’t have to. We’ve always donated clean gently used or new items, organized by category (clothes, toys, books, home appliances, etc.), but that wasn’t enough for them. They demanded that we stay at their store and refold all of our clothes and reorganize all of our other donations into their store the way they had it set up. It became too much of a hassle so we donate elsewhere now. It’s unfortunate what Goodwill has become.
Same and if Buying instore ours required us to take hangers off before buying and I started to notice some employees made you do it not all.
that is unbelievable! I thought the purpose of having a professional staff there was to take care of that kind of stuff, so hard for me to imagine that at the store I shop.
Most of our local churches have a small thrift store in their basement, so I typically donate there because I know it is run by volunteers and that the money generated stays in the community… they price things more like a yard sale where most clothing items are a quarter, etc.
I still (slightly) prefer Goodwill to any local thrift stores I’ve found because they’re bigger, the clothes are all hung up and they have fitting rooms. But overall I’m disappointed. They’ve realized that thrift stores have gained in popularity and they’re raising their prices. Several pull select brands/items for special pricing ($9.99+ per item). It’s baffling to me how they decide which items to choose since I’ll often see items in great shape from higher priced stores still on the regular racks. The vases and artificial plants at one location are priced similarly to Old Time Pottery and at another the framed pictures/art are marked at prices comparable to Ross or Kirkland’s.
We used to have a Savers and it was awesome but it went away 🙁
almost all retail stores are for profit — Target, Sears, etc.etc. if i can find something gently used for a low price, i feel like i am recycling AND getting a great deal. if i shop at a garage sale, that’s towards a profit for somebody, too. going to Savers is similar. it’s better than all of these items going to a landfill.
Savers does partner with local charities to some extent.
it is nice when communities also have charity stores that teach job skills and give back to the community such as Salvation Army, Deseret Industries, and other church-run thrift stores.
Well said.
Goodwill is for profit also.
Just returned from our Savers. We were in on Monday to take advantage of their $10 of $25 purchase. Were surprised to find out we could include purple tag products (which were half price that day) and as long as we spent $25 total we got the additional $10 savings. They also mentioned that there would be half price on all items in the store today except Red tags. That was unusual because it’s normally only clothing not everything in the store. So another good score today. Thanks Collin
I love savers and I love thrifting. One of my local thrift stores has had 50% off the whole store every Monday for two months in a row. They have a rewards program too.spend 30 ? Get 10 off. Then another store had a $1 day.your sidekick got some great deals
Wish they had this in GA
This is defiantly worth noting! Savers hasn’t done an entire store discount in 7 years!! I love savers so much! But I’m resisting this, since I was just in for the 10/25 and 50% off kids items, which was epic btw. 6 pairs of name brand pants like Justice for my 7 year old for $18 🙂 love me some savers! I love it for kids educational games/activities as well. Guys, what were your top finds?!
Totally loved thrift stores.. Here in Colorado is one called ARC and every Saturday they have most of the store 50% off. 😍😍😍
ARC is my favorite!!! My daughter goes to college in CO- we are from CA. Flying Southwest I was able to bring home a 2nd suitcase full of stuff!! Also, we were able to decorate her apt for so little!!!

ARC up here in Boulder (nearest one is Louisville) I have been SO disapointed. Prices r high, very few tags on sale, Goodwill is THE WORST in Longmont. They pulled all the Savers up here, now its 45min drive 😩
I was at Savers when they opened this morning! Got a ton of stuff for about $80 including some high end clothes and pocketbooks. I hope they do Trianon the Fall too!
Goodwill AZ used to have their $1 day every Thursday and I was surprised when I went there last month and the cashier told me that they raised their merchandise to $1.50 per piece.
While visiting Idaho this summer I was surprised at the increase in Deseret Industries prices. Many have mentioned increases in prices at Goodwill also. I presume it’s do to increases in the cost of doing business, prices everywhere are always steadily on the rise. Bread did use to be .35 a loaf and so was a gallon of gas! We all like a bargain and saving money that’s why we follow Hip2Save. We just need to remember, profit or non-profit they are both in business to make money and provide jobs.
It’s not so simple when you compare them to local thrift stores!
Savers has been a tremendous help for my family of 8. I go every Monday for 99 cent day, ME TIME, do not disturb, lol. I find wonderful items for our family. Today my kids shopped 50% off + tax free. We like the variety and quality of treasures we find. We have 6 kids in school, including college student, on one income. We can freshen up our wardrobe with Savers and be below budget.
I bought a Tignanello satchel worth $100 for $3! Me and my kids shop there almost exclusively. I donate regularly and use the 30% off coupons to shop unless they have a sale like yesterday.
As a thrift store junkie I can say that I LOVE savers. Not all Savers are equal but wow when you walk into a good one! I’ve scored awesome tables, desks, lamps, even a lazy boy sofa! I love shopping at Savers, Goodwill, and Salvation Army thrift stores as well as any other thrift/consignment shops I can find. Friends and family know it as shopping at Sally’s- Sally’s boutique! Lol. We make a day of it a few times a year. Happy hunting!
