In the market for a MacBook Air?
Hop on over to Best Buy where they have dropped the price on this Apple MacBook Air (Latest Model) 13.3″, Intel Core i5, 8GB Memory and 128GB Flash Storage to only $799.99 shipped (regularly $999.99). This MacBook also comes with 6 months of Trend Micro Internet Security for up to 3 devices.
(Thanks, Lindsey!)
Does anyone know if this is just a quick bargain drop in price or is MacBook Air going to stay around this price now Apple is promoting the MacBook Pro line?
This is a temp price, however you can find it fairly often for $799 @ Best Buy & Electronics Valley. Apple hasn’t upgraded the Air line for a while and may be fading it out soon. You can get better specs for this money or less courtesy of other manufactures, but there is nothing like a Mac. If your’re looking for a computer that doesn’t get viruses, lightweight, reliable, boots up immidiateley, astetically pleasing, and will last for years, buy a Mac. Just make sure you buy one big enough because they aren’t easy/cheap to upgrade. You can also land a 12in MacBook Pro with the retina screen for around 1K if you are patient and look hard enough. I witnessed the Mac Air 256GB on sale for $829 a few days ago which is a really good deal. I believe that was at Electronics Valley via eBay. I’m fairly certain they are out of NJ and have stellar buyer ratings with free delivery. By the way, Apple has been promoting the PRO line for a long time. The air used to be significantly lighter with a better battery than the pro’s. This isn’t the case any longer. To answer your question this is a pretty solid deal but something you can get again. Just be prepared to buy one if they announce the Air is being eliminated or plan on spending at least 1K or more. They aren’t in the business of beating others prices nor should they be if you offer a superior product.
Thanks Dustin! I was debating on spending alittle more for the MacBook Pro that has Retina display. But what kept me from going with them is they don’t have DVD drives. With ms office now as online subscriptions, I really rather load my own office 2000 I had which does what I need done.
This is a really good price for this.
Thanks for your feedback Nina!
I recall there being a student discount of $100 off. Does anyone know in what circumstances it is applicable? TIA.
It’s only available on full priced Apple products. So this is a better deal.
I was able to use the student discount with the sale price to purchase this Macbook last year. Total price with taxes came out to $758.99.
