Whole Foods Market: Score Lower Prices on Select Organic Grocery Items (Starting 8/28)
Have you heard the news?
Amazon and Whole Foods Market announced yesterday that Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods Market will close this Monday, August 28th!
Since both companies will be working together to make Whole Foods Market’s natural and organic food affordable for everyone, Whole Foods will be offering lower prices on a selection of best-selling grocery staples across all of its stores starting Monday.
“To get started, we’re going to lower prices beginning Monday on a selection of best-selling grocery staples, including Whole Trade organic bananas, responsibly-farmed salmon, organic large brown eggs, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, and more.” – Jeff Wilke, CEO of Amazon
That means whenever you walk into Whole Foods Market starting Monday, you’ll be able to find lower prices on grocery staples like bananas, organic avocados, organic large brown eggs, organic responsibly-farmed salmon and tilapia, organic baby kale and baby lettuce, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, creamy and crunchy almond butter, organic Gala and Fuji apples, organic rotisserie chicken, 365 Everyday Value organic butter, and much more. Sounds good to me!
“And this is just the beginning – we will make Amazon Prime the customer rewards program at Whole Foods Market and continuously lower prices as we invent together. There is significant work and opportunity ahead, and we’re thrilled to get started.” – Jeff Wilke, CEO of Amazon
In the future, after certain technical integration work is complete, Amazon Prime will become Whole Foods Market’s customer rewards program, providing Prime members with special savings and other in-store benefits. Also, Amazon Lockers will be available in select Whole Foods Market stores. Wow!
I so wish Whole Foods would come to West Michigan!
I urge everyone to start googling people’s experiences with being arrested yes arrested at whole foods! I will not shop there, they are anything but a customer based company!
Arrested for what?
Google it and you will see. For accidentally leaving something in the cart unpaid for. One woman spent like $400 and forgot to pay for a $5 case of water another woman was a very small bag of loose nuts that fell down in the cart and so on!
I work for WFM and I have a hard time believing this.
Responsibly farmed salmon is still farmed fish. I’m waiting for wild caught to go on sale!
Same here!
Really? Well the closes Whole Foods in the rich part of town , my opinion but, I been there before love their bread, and other items , but it’s expensive, and kind of far but love their stuff
Pretty excited about this! I love Whole Foods and only shop when I have double coupons. So lower prices makes for better deals! And Amazon lockers?!
Oh my Gosh, this is Awesome news! I Love Whole Foods and their 365 brand is competitively priced with any other conventional supermarket while offering better quality so this Amazon acquisition sounds like a win-win for loyal customers and new alike! Quality food for lower prices?? Definitely sounds like great news!
I know this ? is random and doesn’t belong here (SORRY in advance) does anyone happen to know or have a free Redbox movie rental code??? Tysm email skynbsmommy atgmail
Hi all, I moving to new place and saw whole food market very very close to my house. Can anyone tell me, which items are reasonable price there? How to shop there and save money by using coupon or something? Whether vegetables are reasonable price??
They have printable Whole Foods coupons on their website and in a flyer in store that you can combine with manuf coupons. You can find matchups here sometimes.
Stack coupons ( both manufacturers and store) Use their app. I usually get some $ off for spending some amount. Sometimes they offer free things-recently got organic strawberries for free

Lol! Need to go watch Seinfeld now.
How low is low? Because currently their prices are as high as 2X what you pay for the same thing at Target. I’ll check it out, but I’m skeptical that WF will suddenly become affordable for everyone. Costco does a great job offering natural and organic food for reasonable prices.
I went to grab a few items yesterday and holy guacamole a pound of chicken breast is $10 a pound of ground turkey is $8. They need to start with the meat. Eek!
Costco has organic chicken breast for $5 a pound.
I have a Whole Foods close to me but only go there if I have a freebie coupon or they have their coupons that make it really affordable. Their parking lot is a nightmare so I go early if I have too. I imagine it’s about to get more crowded–ugh. I actually could bike there so that might be worth looking into, lol. I can just see wearing a backpack with my groceries strapped in–too funny.
That is pretty common at the WF I shop at. They probably have more people come via bike, bus or walk then car.
I’ve only ever walked through their stores. It’s too expensive to buy anything. LOL. I’m curious to see if being a Prime Member will add to much savings on top of the reduced prices. A store is going up nearby. I prefer shopping Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s.
Yay thank you so much for the info I love Whole Foods. I can see why other people don’t like it and that’s fine that’s why there are many different stores for different likes, so stick to where you like to shop and stay happy!
You’re welcome Sue! 😉
Ageed Sue. Wow, everyone’s begging and petitioning to get a Whole Foods built near us here for years in North Jersey.. but it’s not happening. Their 365 brand is good.. meats and produce are a different story. Hopefully Amazon can help reduce these prices.
Couponers at whole paycheck are like pushing square through a bottle opening. Ha ha
They have a beautiful rooftop food court in Brooklyn, NY, with play structures for the kids. I love going for lunch when I visit. Also, my friends who eat healthy go to their food court for lunch with they visit New Orleans. The take out food is priced competitively and is healthy and delicious. I just hope they continue to treat their workers fairly.
We have been assured that nothing will change!
Some of the 365 brand products are the same as Trader Joe and Safeway generic brands. I noticed this when product recalls came out a few years ago.
While they lowered some of the prices they also increased prices of other items.
In my store bananas, milk, some cookies, goat’s milk, certain fruits dropped in price, however, their 365 bacon went up in price as well as Kerrygold cheese plus other items.
Just keep an eye on the products you normally buy – price may be higher.
Whole Foods is the best of the best!!
