Crock-Pot Ham (Easy Holiday Recipe Idea)
Cooking a ham for the holidays?
Free up space in the oven and cook a spiral cut ham in your slow cooker this year! It will be the most tender ham EVER! Plus, this is a completely stress-free meal idea that’s perfect for entertaining.
Use the glaze packet that comes with your ham or make this EASY four ingredient orange and clove glaze that is DELICIOUS!
Hip Tip: Make sure your ham will fit the size of your slow cooker. I have an oval-shaped 6-quart slow cooker, and an 8-pound bone-in, spiral sliced ham fit well.
Easy Crock-Pot Ham
yield: 14 SERVINGS
prep time: 10 MINUTES
total time: 10 MINUTES
Skip the oven this year and make a juicy, delicious glazed ham right in your slow cooker!
Ingredients
- 8 lb. bone in spiral sliced ham, fully cooked
- 1 cup orange marmalade
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground clove
- 1/2 cup water
Directions
1
Place ham in a large 6 quart slow cooker.
2
Whisk together glaze ingredients in a saucepan on the stove and bring to simmer. Cook for a few minutes to thicken.
3
Pour glaze over ham, making sure to separate slices a little so it can go through ham.
4
Close lid and set on LOW for 4-5 hours. Baste ham a few times if possible.
5
Serve with glaze, if desired. Keep leftovers in covered container for up to 5 days in fridge.
Ham is one the easiest holiday meals to prepare, and making one in the slow cooker is convenient and YUMMY!
My favorite ham flavors are orange and clove and this recipe and cooking method resulted in a tender, juicy ham with lots of great citrus flavor. My family loved it, and the leftovers were just as delicious!
Feel free to improvise on the glaze to make your own version. For instance, my mom makes a version with a little defrosted orange juice concentrate and whole cloves pressed in the top of ham.

This will make the holidays a little less stressful. Keep up the good work .
Ah that’s so sweet ! My kids like to help also 👍🏻
Do you ever put a whole turkey in the crockpot?
Yes I’ve done a turkey breast in my slow cooker – it’s yummy as well.
We actually did that this year. We stuffed the whole turkey inside the crockpot lol. It came out great.
Yes, for 2 years! I put aluminum foil around the edges where there is a gap between the lid and pot. It took 8 hours for a 12 pound turkey to cook on low.
Ill have to try this glaze. Usually I use pineapple and Cherries with a touch of Smoked paprika. But I think that the Orange and cloves will be a nice change.
Great! Enjoy 😋
Thanks, I did ours in the Crock-Pot and made a glaze with brown sugar and pineapple juice. I want to give yours a try, too….it looks really good.
I can almost smell it–I’m all over this on Christmas Day, when we always have a spiral sliced ham. Thanks so much!!
You’re so welcome – enjoy!
Would a non-spiral sliced ham work?
My daughter doesn’t like any glaze at all on the ham. Would it be okay to cook this without the glaze or would I need to add some sort of liquid?
We do not like a sweet glaze either. Just heat it in the crockpot until it is hot through and it is ready to eat.
Thank you. We have a family lake house and when we are all there, we have 12 people. We are always looking for things to cook in the crock pot, so we can spend more time outside and not heat the whole house by using to oven. And it can also be difficult to find something that one of the families has not eaten already that week. Never thought of using it to cook a ham. Thanks again, this will added to the rotation.
In Sundays Pressure Cooking Today dot com, she lists how to use your Instant Pot pressure cooker to cook your spiral ham. Moisture stays in longer accordingly.

It looks really good! Thanks Lina. I will try this and feed my coworkers 🙂
Oh that’s nice! Enjoy 👍
Last year our oven broke during Easter. We put our ham in the crockpot. Scalloped potatoes in another crockpot and it was the best easter meal ever! Doing again this year
Oh awesome! Great idea!
