Yes!!! Everyone should be using these types of toothbrushes!! Wish I had one when I had braces. Just ask your dentist. They clean better, and reduce the risk of gum recession you can get when brushing too hard using a manual toothbrush. I just bought one for my 4 year old. It’s never too early to start!!!! You can also get the replacement heads on coupon right now at Costco.
Yes! A water pik is also great to use with braces as well. My two teens used them when they had their braces.

Karen: I have had this model for years and don’t have a problem with mold because I keep it cleaned out. It does take a few extra minutes, so if you want a maintenance-free “brush and go,” you might want to pass. If you don’t mind a little upkeep, though, it’s great.
I think the issue comes if you don’t remove the head and let it air out- we do this often because my husband and I share the base and switch the heads (takes like 3 seconds to unscrew the top). I also wipe the handle with a wash cloth to make sure any water doesn’t sneak down into that spot where the head and base meet. We have had ours for 4 years and haven’t had mold issues-. It’s a great toothbrush and you can’t beat this price!

Notice bigger replacement head. This model’s replacement heads are quite a bit more than the narrow based ones.
I’ve had this Essence toothbrush and the more expensive 2 Series (posted a few days ago on Amazon for $19.99). Having owned and used them both myself, I prefer the 2 Series. I found that the Essence head can be harder to keep clean inside. I also was not able to find generic brush heads for them, so I paid more for replacement brush heads. I ordered an extra 2 Series a few days ago for when my other quits! If you’re on the fence, I would wait for the next 2 Series deal. HTH!

I find this happens with all electric toothbrushes. Water gets in the head attachment area and then the mold starts appearing. I do a thorough clean at the end of each day, but sadly I still find some.

My Walmart has them in store on rollback for $24.97. I was able to print 2-$13 coupons from coupons.com, making them $11.97 each. There is also a $5 coupon on the replacements heads (print limit of 2 as well). The replacement heads for this model were $19.97 for a 2-pack at Walmart, so $14.97 after the coupon.
The model at Walmart is a walmart exclusive, so it is not the exact model # as the one on Amazon. I don’t know really know how they differ. I ordered 2 from Amazon as well and will have to wait to see when they come in, but will say that the brush head on the Walmart model seems to be smaller.
