Happy Friday: The Joy of a Kid-Cooked Meal
Sent from reader, JoAnn:
This is picture of the beef stir fry my eleven year old daughter made us for dinner Sunday evening. She found the recipe in Food Network magazine, from a previous free subscription on Hip2Save. We bought the ingredients using a gift card I earned from Swagbucks, and submitted rebates to Checkout 51 and Ibotta for the fresh produce. She loves cooking and baking and this was by far her most adventurous attempt. It turned out amazing! I am so proud of her!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

That’s awesome! Kudos to your daughter!
Yeah!!!I was so proud when my daughter made me a sandwich 😂
She did a great job! It looks delicious!
Looks so yummy! I look forward to my kiddos cooking. 🙂
Great job!! Looks delicious!
Kudos to her! It looks delicious! 🙂
That is awesome (and great job stacking all those savings)! ❤️
This is awesome. My 6 year old son is always wanting to help in the kitchen. I’m thinking about getting him kid friendly knives for his birthday. Anyone know of a set for kids?
I bought this set for my kids, and my 5 year old daughter uses them all the time. They work well and won’t cut skin. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0162AI724/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you!
Thanks!

Looks fantastic!
Teach them young and hopefully it becomes a way of life. If she wants more practice, she can come cook for me any time!!☺
I agree. If anyone would like to cook for me, I’ll accept. 🙂
How old is your daughter?
She’s 11 it says in the post.
Awesome! Way to go young lady!!!
That’s awesome!! Well done!
The one and only negative comment on this thread 👎🏻
Wow! Way to go! Thank you for sharing & inspiring 🙂
This is awesome! I love it when my kid makes me food too. It’s rare and mostly cakes but It’s amazing!
Omg looks so good!!!
It’s def overcooked especially the rice, but it’s a nice and you gotta learn someday. It’s good that she is making these mistakes now vs 28 and calling her mom trying to figure out basic recipes. My bestie is 28 and cannot cook any of her favorite meals.
This is great! They have these baking championships on food network now with these young kids baking like pros! n its so inspiring! They’re doing things most adults can’t do! I know I can’t! N It inspires kids, which is great. My LO def loves it.
Looks perfect to me! Just the way I like it!
Looks delish! My boys love to cook as well and even if it’s not perfect everytime it is so nice to have them doing it…plus each time it gets better!
Looks great! I hope my kids are making meals like that in a few years!
Love this! Looks yummy! Good from your heart always tastes the best. Hope you share some more in the future 😛
Good should be food. Sorry about that!
Yum!
I’d eat it. Rice is tough to perfect, imo. The rest looks exactly right, for me. I’d eat the whole thing, no problem! Kudos to the daughter!
