I have SO much washi tape! I typically use it in my planner for decorating and on cards & letters that I send through the mail. This gave me a few new ideas – thanks!
Sure! Thanks for stopping by 👍
Me too!
I live in Japan and buy washi tape whenever I’m at the 100 yen store. Lately I’ve been using it to decorate presents. I bought a roll of brown kraft paper and use different types of washi tape on it. I don’t need to store millions of different rolls of wrapping paper when I have washi tape. It’s so minimal, but every present looks unique!
Japanese always coming up with the most unique stuff. To me washi tape is just another fun way to be creative and de stress and that’s always a good thing.
I love to craft but I’ve never been able to get into this.
I bought a bundle from Michaels last December but they dont stick long. I tried it in a treat bag and my charger. After a day they are falling apart. Is it supposed to be sticky like tape? Did I get a bad batch?
Oh darn. Mine is pretty sticky. I also have a lot of the Scotch brand from Target. 👍
Thanks Lina. I guess mine is bad. I got the 45 tape box from Michael’s. I tried 4 different rolls and they are all the same. Not sticky at all. I was excited when I got it as I see a lot of crafty uses on pinterest for it. Now Im so disappointed.
I like all your posts!! Thanks for all the ideas
That’s so nice! Thanks so much for your kind words 😀
I had the same issue with mine from Michaels 😕
All of our chargers (phones, tablets, wireless headphones, etc.) are “taped” with individual patterns for each family member. No more “That’s my charger!” “No, it’s not!” “Have you seen my charger?” I made a little cheat sheet of who’s print is what and it stays on the fridge. Instantly made everyone more accountable for keeping up with their own stuff, I no longer find ALL the chargers in one unnamed child’s room, and the tape hasn’t budged at all. Best idea ever!
Lol. I’ve had to label my chargers for when I travel to visit family 😂. I use sharpies tho
Haha you’re my hero! That’s so smart!
We have 7 kids and over 30 Apple devices (not to mention droid devices!). Great idea!
I love the tin can. I use them for pencils all the time with scrapbook or wrapping paper around them but this is a great idea!
Oh thanks Shannon!
I use washi tape to add a special touch on items that I sell online. I tape up the packages nice & pretty along with the mailing envelopes! My customers love it!!
Love the small details like this!
Thanks! Cute ideas. The few times i have used washi tape— it just rolled back up? It wouldnt stay down 🙁
Y? So i stopped using it. It was driving me crazy.
Mine are also the scotch brand purchased from Target and work really well. I have used them on tons of stuff. My favorite way to use them is re-purposing magnet strips. When you get Shutterfly magnets there is a strip that has the barcode that most people trash. I put blue painters tape and then washi tape on top. I use them as magnet strip for pictures, art work, and kids awards that we want to put on the fridge. They are so cute!
That’s super smart Shelly! How cute.
After putting the tape on Mason jars – what should be sprayed over it so everything stays ?
Thanks for all of the great ideas, I love washi tape!
You’re so welcome 👍
If you put the washi tape on an object, like a keyboard, does it remove easily after awhile? This article and ideas were wonderful. Think I will need to try some! Thanks so much and appreciate any answers.
My girls won the rainwater regatta. We decorated the sail with wasbi tape and it looked great.
Now that my daughter is at home due to the pandemic, I use my tape as entertainment. I have her using it in place of stickers. We just peal and stick it to paper… I have a toddler.
That is awesome fine motor skill work! I have taped down small animals/toys and then had my littles peel them up. Such easy entertainment.
Washi tape on clothes pins! Wal-Mart also sells Scotch brand washi tape. Love the metallic washi rolls.
Love that idea!
Washi on tea lights too. Hobby Lobby has a decent selection on sale but you have to pay shipping.
Dollar Tree sells them too. I repurpose the BBW candle jars n use washi tape to decorate the jar n lid. I bought a dollhouse bookshelf off FB with lots of stains. I’m too lazy to move it n paint it. I’m thinking bout using washi tape to cover up all the stains.
Oh how smart Kay – fun idea!
