We bought this for our 4 year old for Christmas. She loves to have us put a word together for her to practice or just carry it around the house and copy words too. Very glad we bought this one.

Too cute! Glad she has been enjoying hers! I may need to grab one for my nephew! I think he would like it too!

What age would you recommend this for? Have a 3 yr old or 6yr old in mind. Not sure if too advanced for 3 yr old but too easy for a 6 yr old?

    • Heather

We bought this for our niece’s 5th birthday she needs help writing, it would depend on how advanced the 6yr old is

Great for 3. Can use it to color in the car, then grow into copying letters. My 3yo is recognizing letters, so he would like the letter theme.

I would love to love this product. It only has uppercase making it not appropriate for our 5/6 year olds. šŸ™ Thatā€™s a habit thatā€™s hard to break.

    • Esther

If it were all lowercase I would have bought one for each of our Kindergarten literacy centers.

That and at my childā€™s school they are taught how to write in Dā€™Nealean, which I think is a travesty.

      • hahn

Why do you not like D’Nealean?

        • Fran

          What is it?

      • Esther

We do Handwriting Without Tears. When all the teachers saw that the 4 year old program was only uppercase they were very upset. Our K5 does their own thing using the materials, but not following curriculum.

      • Esther

Ewe! I had to look that up. That is terrible.

    • Alicia

Thanks for the comment! Never thought of that, and very true. Very hard to break that ALL capital letters

Thinking about purchasing for my 3 year old son. He recently learned to read and now I want to focus on teaching him writing skills. Heā€™s a lefty so a new challenge for me!šŸ˜€
