How Wag! Works…

You can book a walk for your dog at your convenience either on- demand, scheduled or you can set up a recurring schedule. Upon setting up your account, you will also be offered a FREE key lock box so your dog walker can get your pup even when you’re not home!

While your dog is out for their walk, you can see every step of their walk through live GPS tracking and you can even receive pee and poo notifications 💩. You will also have the ability to contact the walker at any time you see fit.

Once the walk is complete, you will receive a photo report card which will show you the time, distance, potty break details and any other important notes.

Here’s what one reader has to say about Wag!…

I absolutely love Wag!. I started using Wag! with my foster dogs and puppies and never had an issue. You can use the Wag! lock box or you can hide your key, meet them with the key, etc. It is very flexible. They are always doing fun things like after so many walks you get a free box of misc. stuff (last time I got a dog toy, bandanna, dog treat and dog bowl) and drawings for free walks or free stuff for your pooch.

It is such an easy way if you’re in a bind for time and need your pooch walked! I’m trying to get into shape and stay busy so I work part-time for Wag! as well (but still maintain a full-time job). They are so flexible and I’ve never had so much fun. It’s a great way to meet people, dogs and to stay busy & healthy. I love both sides of Wag!.

This would be awesome if I didn’t have a protective dog. He doesn’t like anything or anyone he doesn’t know in our yard or house.

You can schedule a meet and greet with a walker! if your dog likes them, you can do recurring walks with the same walker 🙂

Anyone have any idea how much these walks cost? Trying to figure out if I can afford it daily before I fill all out that out by signing up. Thank you

    • Mldang

Their pricing depends on how long you’d like the walk to be and how many dogs you have.

Hello, you can see my review of the app from both ends in the hip2save post. A 20 minute walk is $14, a 30 minute walk is $20 and a 60 minute walk is $30. Honestly, this MAY very by area (I am not positive) but it will be around that base pricing. Tipping is optional as well. You can either pay EACH time or buy credits (basically paying upfront) and get a savings that way (10-20 percent depending on how much you buy). I like to save the money by purchasing ahead of time – but if I’m strapped for cash I’ll just pay each walk.

Additionally, as others have said you can get a credit by using a code. My personal code is: HOLLY54332. We do get a bonus if you use this code.

      Thanks!

How much do you earn as a walker?

      • Nick

Not nearly enough its kind of a rip off, they say they need walkers in a certain area, but there will be no walks available, and you have to pay them the $25 background check fee first. Been a walker for over a year, have only gotten 3 or 4 walks as an on demand walker and I’ve made under $35.

      • Holly-Marie

Maybe “Nick” didn’t have a good experience due to their area. You can make good money if you live in an area where people are doing these walks. I live in Houston, outside downtown – so its easy to get walks nearby pretty much throughout the day. My first week I actually took a stay cation from work and in 3 days I made $300. I only do walks within 5 miles of me because I don’t like driving very far. If you are wiling to drive further you can make more money, but keep in mind of course you are using gas.

I HATE when people say “wag is a rip off” because a lot of the time I’m thinking “wow that was easy money”. You are getting great exercise, meeting cool people and dogs, seeing your city, etc. I am in no way in marketing or anything like that with WAG, I just really love the app.

This really doesn’t help my sudden case of puppy fever 😒

I’m a little hesitant regarding security of my house. Does anyone have any insight on this? If anything happens does the company help take care of things? (if anything is stolen etc)

    • Holly-Marie

A lot of people setup cheap little security cameras. Most homes I go into have little cameras setup. Also I’ve never head of this happening. People on this app do receive a background check like any normal job.

You don’t have to allow people access to your home if you are uncomfortable. You can set up walks for only when you are home so you can meet them and hand your dog off to them. You also can set them up outside with the lock box so they can just have access to your patio or back yard and not your actual home.
