How I Transformed These Dollar Tree Plastic Animals Into Elegant Party Decor
Sent from reader, Sherris:
I just want to remind everyone to head to Dollar Tree for all your party planning needs!
I was planning a baby shower for a friend and I was able to find paper products and these adorable safari animals at the Dollar Tree!
I took them home and gave them a few coats of gold spray paint and they went with our shower theme perfectly! I think they look like they cost way more than $1!
So next time you are planning a party or shower on a budget don’t forget to hit up your local Dollar Tree! You never know what gems you will find! Happy Friday!

Wow! beautiful!
Forget a baby shower, I want to make them for decor in my own home!
I love this idea! They came out so beautifully!
We have a mighty dollar and they sell cans of spray paint of all colors for 1$
Those look great! The elephant would make great decor, too!
So cute!
Awesome idea!
Great idea! I wonder if they have horses? I want to do a Horseback Riding party for my daughter’s upcoming birthday.
My friend did a circus party theme with the plastic animals and she used Pom Pom’s to put on them dress them up with fabric and use cookie tins to put them on top and decorated the tins with gold rope and color fabric she made tu tus skirt for some it took a lot of effort but so writhed made banner with different colors of fabric all from stuff at .99 cents store or king dollar
So cool! I’ve also seen where you take a knife and carve a hole out in the middle of the plastic animals back (they are hollow) and after spray painting plant a real (or use fake) succulent for a beat looking indoor plant/planter!
For my sisters bridal shower centerpieces, we grabbed everyone’s empty wine bottles and spray painted them silver. Put a couple white flowers and an array at each table.
Wow great idea!
Wow, those actually look very nice! Some great ideas here….like the one with the wine bottles spray painted for vases!
Wow that genius!! Love that idea!
I would never have thought of this!!! I absolutely love it!!
These are amazing! Great idea!
Those are cute!
Since it was a baby shower. I would add some little ones too to make it looks like the momma and the baby
How creative & Adorable !
Great idea!
Thanks for spray paint idea. Saw similar projects on Pinterest with figurines on baby food jars n with Easter decor. Gave me idea to spray paint vases/wine bottles/soda bottles for masquerade party. Stick masks n feathers inside.
Good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Looks elegant and sophisticated….at a great value no one can’t bit
I saw somewhere where they drilled a hole through the body of the plastic animal and used it as a kid’s toothbrush holder.
Wow
awesome
Hi,
I tried this and my spray paint didn’t dry well. Almost after 3 months, it is still sticky. Any idea?
