These smartwatches pair with your iPhone so that you can receive notifications and much more! Please note that these watches are NOT cellular.
These don’t appear to be cellular, which have a red dot on the side.
Hi Marie! It looks like as long as these watches are paired with your iPhone, they should be able to take calls. However, if you don’t have your iPhone nearby they won’t work. Hope that helps!
Yes Cassandra! They will let you know you have a call as long as they’re within reach. However if you leave your phone behind you can’t rely on your watch for calls, emails etc. I love mine! To all honesty I don’t care about having cellular option, this watch still does so much !
Actually, after looking into this further, it appears you may be correct, Marie. These do not appear to be cellular. So sorry for any confusion. The post has been updated.
Hi Cassandra. You were correct the first time. The Apple Watch IS able to receive phone calls and text messages as long as it’s paired with your iPhone using iCloud. If you want to have a cellular plan where you can take phone calls independent of your iPhone, i.e., making phone calls when you are on a morning run WITHOUT your iPhone, then that’s where the cellular comes in. I have this exact Apple Watch Series 3. (GPS) and I love it.
Yes you can!!! You just can’t do it with out your cellphone near by.
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) uses the network connection of your nearby iPhone to send and receive text messages, answer phone calls, and receive notifications. The built-in GPS works independently of your iPhone for distance, pace, and route mapping in workouts. And you can do many other things independent of your iPhone, like measure your heart rate, play locally stored music, and pay with Apple Pay.
Can someone please explain the cellular part to me. Hahahahaha I am not very tech savvy and have hard time understanding
Is cellular so that you can use the watch as the phone and make call or text even if you don’t have the phone around? Does cellular require extra charge with the provider?
Yes, it’s $10 a month.
Retailmenot also has a $30 cash back offer if you spend over $200! It expires today!
Thanks I found the $30 cash back option
They charge me 16 dollars just for tax so I would be paying 295 instead of 279 🤦🏻♀️
Yes I want to know how it’s $279 shipped because for me there is also tax.
So how do you redeem the 30 dollars later? Can someone help me with that please

Fitbit Versa has more features, a longer lasting battery, and costs less. Win, win, win! 😁
Yeah except you cannot reply with a mic with a text, or text back with quick replies. The versa only allows android users to use the new feature of quick reply once they come out with the update! But thats cool though that you enjoy your watch.
It is cheaper but like the other comment said, Fitbit Versa blocks many features to iPhone users
Just an FYI. I have a hard time waiting for things, so my husband went to the Apple store and they price matched and I got mine today! I had the series 1, I’m so excited to start using this one since it has GPS and my runs will be more accurate!
This is a great deal! With Ebates you get and additional 6% back which comes to about 18 dollars! In the end saving close to 68 bucks!
I just bought this. Hope it turns out to be better than my fitbit.
I find my Apple Watch to be way more accurate than my Fitbit was.
If you buy this they Macy’s can you add Apple care after?
Yes, you have 30-60 days to add AppleCare to your products. I don’t remember the exact time frame for all devices but I had 60 days to add it to my iPhone after I purchased it from my mobile carrier.
Funny story. After reading this post I started researching more about it but got confused..I tried to hint my husband that I wanted one but I knew he would say no because of our big splurges in the House..I was sad through the day but then he handed me a long rectangular box that’s wrapped. He said happy Mother’s Day and I opened it..guess what was inside?? An iPhone watch series 3! 🙂
Turned out he bought it for me two months ago but was waiting to give it to me for Mother’s Day hehe
Aww, that’s SO sweet! Thanks for sharing this with us Luv! Happy Mother’s Day! 😉
