Save on dining out for Father’s Day!

If you’re looking to try a new restaurant for Father’s Day, or are traveling this summer and want to save on dining out with the family while on vacation, this deal is for you!

Through June 9th, Restaurant.com is having a sale and is offering their $25 certificates for ONLY $2 each when you use promo code BIGTWO at checkout.

Here’s what you’ll need to do…

Click here to find a restaurant in your neighborhood (search by zip code or city)

Browse through the list of participating restaurants in your area (you will be able to view the menu, location, and phone # for each restaurant)

Pick your restaurant and the appropriate certificate amount and then click add to cart. Be sure to read the restaurant’s special instructions before purchasing the certificate as some restaurants require that you make a minimum purchase, some may state valid for food or dinner only, and some may restrict the days that the certificate can be used (i.e. Monday-Friday only).

Enter the coupon code BIGTWO into the “Promo Code” box; your discount will then be applied to your purchase and you’ll pay just $2 for a $25 certificate. Then redeem your voucher at your local restaurant and enjoy the savings!

Keep in mind…

If a dining experience doesn’t live up to your expectation, you aren’t satisfied with your choice of restaurant, or you just change your mind, you can exchange your certificate at anytime. No questions asked!

You can easily exchange your Restaurant Certificate for a different restaurant with an equivalent value. PLUS, Restaurant Gift Certificates will NEVER expire.

Just be aware that many restaurants don’t accept these, and there are usually fairly high minimum purchase requirements to use them at the restaurants that do!

Thanks for the warning Heather! If any issues do pop up, you can exchange your certificate at anytime. Hope that helps!

When these came out in the starting these were great, Now the choices of restaurants are very few. Watch what you buy… for $25 restaurant gift certificate for $2 minimum purchase is $50 on most of them.

    • rti

so does this mean that if minimum purchase is $30 at restraunt.. and if i buy 2 gift certificates of $15 each at $2.. i should be good??

      • Jiya

I think you can only use 1 gift certificate per table. So in your case 1 certificate of $15 on which u spend $2 + $15 since that’s the minimum purchase. So for $30 Dinner you spend $17 + Tip + Tax. Hope this helps.

        • Jiya

I haven’t used these certificates for a long time. If there is some mistake fellow hipsters are welcome to correct it.🙂

  3. abbie

No. Usually you’ll need to spend $30 per $15 dollar giftcard you buy, in your scenario.

  4. Wren

No… I believe you have to purchase $30 minimum to be able to use ONE $15 cert.

  5. Sheri

Lots of establishments won’t accept certificates/coupons on holidays, so this might not be a good idea for Father’s Day dining

I had trouble using this last time so never again

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Bummer! SO sorry to hear that 🙁

  7. Amy

I had a very hard time the last time I tried and it seems like every place I tried really wasn’t all that great. Every last one is now puto of business.

  8. Tiffany

Hello! Thanks for the deal I have never tried this and I wondered how it works? How do you use your certificate? Thanks for all you do!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Tiffany! Just print out and bring the certificate with you when you dine in. Be sure to hand it to your server so that they can apply the discount to your order!

Just a tip… You can always call the restaurant first to make sure they will accept it. Also, at most locations they prefer you show them the certificate prior to ordering (in my experience). If the restaurant is offering these via Restaurant.com, though, they SHOULD accept it. The only time I have had an issue was when the business was under new ownership with same name and the new owners would not accept it since I had bought it back when the prior ownership was still in place (if that makes sense). It’s true that you typically won’t see big name “chain” restaurants in this site, but for my family it has always been a great way to try something new. We especially be them when traveling because we would rather try local food than a chain we could get anywhere. And $2 for a $25 certificate isn’t bad even if the min. purchase requirement is $50. That’s almost half off. Many restaurants have their menu available online so you can see what you’re buying before you purchase the certificate, too! Sorry for the long post but with all the negative and confused comments I wanted to try and shed some positive light on this. We really love restaurant.com and have for nearly a decade now. 😉

I had no trouble using them. As long as you read all the details and call the restaurant you will be fine.you can always exchange your non used certificates for new ones. You are not losing that money. I have used these in Las Vegas restaurants .. example Pampas Grill in Planet Hollywood ($25 gift certificate in which I spent $50).
