Speaking from my experience only – Best Buy usually drops the price of the Apple MacBook Air just before the start of the school year and just before Apple’s quarterly sales reports. I purchased one at the beginning of April for $629 (using all available discounts – Ibotta and Student Deals coupon). This is a very good price for this laptop and you never know what Apple will do with their prices in the future as this pending tariff issue looms which might drive the prices up.
I placed an order at noon EST with a guarantee of it being ready in an hour (which was perfect as my son was driving by there just after that). Got no communication at all that my order was on “hold”. Called and spoke to them and my order is on hold while confirming payment and they had no idea when it would be released for pick up. I canceled as his laptop just died and he needed one for this weekend. Now my credit card company has a temporary hold on $690.61. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere 🙁
