Can you use these just like regular legos if you dont use them for the game?
You could, but it’s kind of expensive to use for that purpose. There are usually a couple of mini figures and sometimes a vehicle or other accessory.
I had the same question. The lego in the first pic retails for $59.99 and was for $12 on clearance today with over 200 pieces. Is that still expensive?
Yes. The only part that makes it for the game is the little round plastic disk that they have the characters stand on. Otherwise, they are just regular legos. They usually do not come with full building instructions as they expect you to build it in the game- which is really annoying, so we always look them up online anyway.
yes
My son goes through spurts of playing dimensions and then not for a while–right now he’s not. Might be worth a look though, for some early stocking stuffers, perhaps.
Per piece count it isn’t bad but the pieces aren’t really fun themselves. If you wanted a certain minifig it might be worth it but the starter set includes all the pieces used to go around the baseplate where you place the characters for the game as well as some of the character tags so I’d say probably 125 actually worthwhile pieces. We have quite a few of the character sets and those are what can be fun but $9 isn’t cheap other than the fact they’ve discontinued the entire system and if you want one before they’re completely gone kind of thing.
Thank you for the detailed reply.
Sunday I was so angry at the company GameStop, I went online and found over 35 LEGO dimensions characters that I’ve been wanting and I found them on the clearance very cheap. So there was one or two packs that I’ve been wanting since the game came out in 2016 but couldn’t afford a $100 starter pack until now and online they said that they had them in stores turns out they claimed that they didn’t have any which I knew was a lie because the workers tend to keep a hold of stuff for the selves. I only owned the game since a week before my grandmother had die from cancer this July of 2016, anyway its a very fun game compared to every LEGO game so far. I just don’t understand why end the franchise so early, it’s probably because we want more characters like the Grinch, or the Flint Stones. Why end a game that was doing very well. Anyway I hate it when I can’t find them cheap and anywhere.
I meant that my grandmother had died this July of 2018
