Love Movies? AMC is Launching NEW Subscription Plan and it’s Similar to MoviePass
Save BIG at the movies! 🍿
Do you have an AMC theatre nearby? Like MoviePass? You’ll love the newest and best tier in AMC Stub’s loyalty subscription program!
Starting June 26th, AMC is adding the Stubs A-List to the AMC Stubs loyalty program. With Stubs A-List, you’ll be able to see up to three movies every week – including ALL premium formats like Dolby Cinema, IMAX at AMC, PRIME at AMC, RealD 3D, BigD, and D-Box at any of their U.S locations.
Plus, Stubs A-List members will also receive the benefits of an AMC Stubs Premiere member, which includes earning $5 for every $50 spent, skipping the line at the box office and concessions, waiving online ticketing fees, scoring FREE popcorn, fountain drink size upgrades, and more! 🍿
What’s the cost? Is there a catch?
You’ll pay $19.95 (+tax) per month to watch up to three movies per week, as well as receive these Premier benefits. Once you sign up, the $19.95 price is guaranteed for 12 months.
Note that new AMC Stubs A-Listers will have a 3-month minimum commitment. After that, your membership will last until you opt out of recurring billing. As long as you’re an A-List member, your credit or debit card will be charged the recurring monthly fee on the same date each month.
Watch three movies every week for an entire month, and you’ll pay ONLY $1.66 per movie! 😱 Huge savings!
How do I reserve my tickets with AMC Stubs?
As an AMC Stubs A-List member, you can make advance reservations for FREE with your virtual card, either online or via the AMC app (you won’t receive a physical card, but mobile access is easy). Note that if you upgraded to A-List from Premiere and had a physical card, you can continue to use that card as an A-List member.
According to the program, a week runs from Friday to Thursday, and your A-List weekly benefits reset every Friday morning. This means you get to enjoy the newest movies each week! Members may not have more than three reservations at any time, regardless of whether the showtimes fall within the same week. You will not be able to make a reservation if the start time of a movie you want begins before the previous movie ends.
Can you not use it on the weekends then? Thanks.
It starts on Friday and goes to Thursday.
Yes, you can use it on the weekends! 🙂
How old is that picture, no AMC by me has reusable popcorn buckets or cups. I wish they had loyalty cups and buckets!
ours has buckets!
Hmmm I’ll have to bug them the next time I go to get the reusable buckets! Thanks for letting me know.
I live in Orlando, and we have buckets. It has the information on their website.
Also does anyone know if all 3 tickets can be used at once? This way my husband, daughter, and I could go see a movie once a week and only have the one subscription fee.
The FAQ says you can only use it for the account holder and since you can’t make a reservation for another movie before the next movie ends then it wouldn’t let you do more than one at a time for any movie without having two or three passes.
Well boo, guess we’ll be sticking with movie pass. $30 a month is way better than $60 a month.
So for $20/month you can see 12 movies a month?
Yes! Three movies each week Or 12 per month for $19.95!
I’ll keep my MoviePass. Half the price and more than double the movies.
Can we get a membership for the kids with the AMC subscription?
They will check the photo ID. So I assume children are not allowed in general. Competition is good. This is a good deal if most theaters around you are AMC and if you love the premium formats (Imax, Dolby, 3D) or like booking in advance
Lots of internet chatter that mp is on its last legs. Their biz plan does not seem to be sustainable. What’s nice is that it seems to be making theater chains react and we the customers win.
Cinemark just announced they have a monthly subscription too! $8.99 a month for one ticket, 20% off concessions, no fees to reserve online and if you don’t use the ticket, it rolls over to the next month!
Neat find! Thanks for sharing!
Personally I wouldn’t do this because my local AMC is dirty. Now if one of our other local theaters did this, I would sign up.
I took my kids to the free movie at AMC and they wanted to leave. It was dirty, small theater, and no reclining seats. The other 3 in the area have really spoiled us.
Love the MoviePass! Just got it and I can’t believe how great it is!! Pretty much any theatre near me takes it!
MoviePass is still the better deal. It is half the cost, I can see unlimited movies. and I pay $40 for my family of 4 compared to $80. I can live without the other formats AMC is offering.
with this could we watch all 3 movies in 1 days. like 12, 315, and 6 pm showing and just make one trip?
Hi Cheseie! Yes! I believe that would work. Here is what I find listed in the details – “Members may not have more than 3 reservations at any time, regardless of whether the showtimes fall within the same week. You will not be able to make a reservation if the start of that movie begins before the previous movie ends.” Hope that helps!
