I just booked an Airbnb on Saturday. 🙁 It is setup for split payment. The second half is due July 30. Does anyone know if this could still apply?
I would love to know the same thing! I booked an Airbnb for December and have already paid half. I would love to pay the second half using gift cards.
My personal experience says no.
I once did a split payment, had my card compromised between the first and second installment. AirBNB could not change the payment method, without me canceling the reservation, and then rebooking it. I complained about their inefficiencies, and they gave me $50. Such a pain. But I did it, but sent a message to the property owner prior to canceling, and rebooking to avoid any confusion on their behalf.
Just tried to purchase, said you can not purtcase with a credit or debit card or Pay pal. Not sure how to get this deal on e-bay.
And my bf tried it to and then got an e-mail that his e-bay account is now suspended.
Can you use more than one at a time?
Yes you can use several giftcards during one transaction. I just got off the phone with Airbnb to check. Also, just link your credit card to your Paypal and it should work right away. You cant pay with a credit/debit card directly but need to link it to Paypal, hope that helps!
Unfortunately now its saying Ebay ran into issues with Paypal so I cant complete this transaction with Airbnb. I was able to purchase the Famous Footwear gift cards thru Paypal though. Odd.
I will forever be wary of Airbnb. The one time I booked a vacation home though them ended up in disaster. I booked and paid months in advance. The vacation was not only for my immediate family, but also my sister and her family and my mother and grandmother. A month before our week’s rental was to begin, the owner abruptly cancelled because she sold the home! Airbnb’s resolution was to offer an additional 10% to my payment so we could find something else. Anyone who has tried to book a stay for 11 people knows the absurdity of that “solution”. Buyer beware where Airbnb is concerned.
