Has anyone priced out school supplies to see who is the less expensive among the retailers? I heard Shopko and Target has good deals too.
Walmart has either the best or ties for the best on school supplies this year. They also have two count packs of Cra-Z-Art disappearing purple glue sticks for .25. That’s the lowest I’ve seen on glue sticks. The only exception I’ve found is that Big Lots has spiral notebooks on sale for .17 this week. All other retailers have a lowest price of .25 for the spiral notebooks.
As a teacher. Don’t buy cra z art / rose art crayons if you are able. They do not work very well. I have seen many frustrated students with these crayons.
Ne, how about markers and colored pencils ?
Thanks
Was just coming to say that. I would not suggest the Cra-Z items. Stick to what the teachers are asking for. They know from experience these products are junk.
Thank you! I was wondering if I should spend the extra money for crayola brand.
Yes! As much as you can afford to do it, try to stick with Crayola for coloring products, Elmers for glue products, Ticorendega for pencils, and pink erasers/eraser caps. Also, try to stay away from paper 2 pocket folders, as they tear so easily; instead get vinyl or poly. Lastly, if you can afford it, go for reinforced filler paper. I have more suggestions but don’t want to overwhelm anyone. Happy back to school shopping!
Yes!!!
Hi. Please share.
As a parent that loved to save money, my time and peace of mind is infinitely more valuable. I’d be so annoyed to have to redo my shopping in October/November because I fell for a cheap deal.
there is NOT a minimum of two of those items if you go directly to walmart.com. it must be if you use the h2save link above. I just ordered these items for pickup.
Thanks for sharing, Amy! I am not finding that as I search through now. I still see a minimum quantity of two required. Glad you could grab just one!
I needed 8 black expo markers and online Walmart has a 4 pack +2 bonus for $2.63, in the store they were $3.74, which was still the cheapest I’ve found.
do you have the link for the expo markers?
Great score! I don’t see those now as I search through. Thanks for sharing your find with us!
Please share more of your suggestions! I’m new to school supply shopping. I guess I’m old, but it wasn’t a thing when I was in school. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as reinforced filler paper!
Hi Amy! You can browse all of the HOT back to school deals over here –> https://hip2save-com-develop.go-vip.co/category/back-to-school-deals/ Hope that helps!
I went to Target yesterday and they had the giant glue sticks, 6pk, for $1.50. My son starts Kindergarten in 2 weeks so I bought extras for the KG teachers. These usually go for $1 each.
