I have tried blue apron and hello fresh for about a year and signed up for plated about 2-3 months ago. So far I am loving my Plated experience. They have a lot of different recipes to choose from, it’s super easy to switch up your meal plan each week, and they even offer dessert options. I also like that the recipes so far have been simple to follow and the ingredients are always fresh. And their customer service is awesome. One time my box arrived really late (like 9pm) and without even having to contact them, they reached out to me the next morning and gave me a full refund on my order. I’ve been favoring them more than hello fresh lately.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
How long is this good for?
Hi there! This offer will be available for a limited time!
Just double checking, the prices above are the price per week for the first two weeks/orders correct? THanks
Yes! That’s correct! You’re so welcome!
If you have an Amex card, you may have a $15/$50 offer for Plated. Would make the 3×3 plan $38.73, or $4.30/meal after the Amex credit.
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I saw that on my Skymiles amex – will definitely stack the two now!
Plus I also see there is a Hello Fresh promo $20 off $65. There is a current labor day promo for HF for $20 off your next 4 boxes with code LABORDAYLVC if you are a current cancelled customer.
I only had an offer for boxed and hello fresh 🙁
Does anyone know if there are vegetarian or vegan options? I tried to sign up to peak but wouldn’t show me anything food wise until I picked a plan and put in my CC info.
Yes, they have a number of vegetarian options. Not sure about vegan. If you go to their website, you can see all of the upcoming weeks menus without logging in.
If you want vegan try purple carrot.
We recently started using Plated after using Blue Apron for about a year. We enjoy the diverse selections. They are slightly more expensive than Blue Apron, but I would recommend them 😊
Yay! That’s SO great to hear Megan! Thanks for taking a moment to comment!
This year I decided to do the meal delivery companies. I’m trying out all of the companies with their introductory offers. I tried dinnerly (this week)they’re a cost effective company with no frills. Not the company for us. Next week I’m getting hello fresh for the next 4 weeks. After hello fresh I’ll try plated and then blue apron.
Don’t forget Home Chef! It’s been my personal favorite for about a year now. I didn’t like Hello Fresh by the end – rotten food, miniscule portions but I’ve been super happy with Home Chef.
Do they deliver on Sundays?
Hi Anne! As I click through I find my delivery day options to be – Saturdays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Hope that helps!
I have some free hello fresh and blue apron boxes for new customers (will have to unsubscribe / cancel after first box if you dont want more). Of you’d like one comment with your email address and say which box you’d like (or both).
Michelle, if the boxes are available I would love to have them. Thank you.

Hi I would love to have 2 boxes so I can help my daughter, who is due with her 2nd child any day now, and her family.
Thanks so much. I have never tried any of these services and would really like to try one.

All boxes spoken for.
Thank you Michelle.
Have a nice day:)
Both please and thank you Ejohnsonbsn@gmail.com
Ok. I’ll try them after blue apron. There’s just so many to pick from. What’s a mom to do 😂
Big Plated fan here. I’m a bit picky about my food and find Blue Apron and Hello Fresh a little too “foodie” for me. Plated to me seems more like food I enjoy, but with a twist. I’ve been able to try new things (hello, butternut squash!), but in recipes that are pretty simple to make and that I’ve really enjoyed (spaghetti squash bolognese!). The option to skip weeks is helpful – I’ve gone without a box delivered for two months and there were no issues.
Customer service is good, too, especially if you are missing an item or two in the box – I’ve gotten credit towards a later box.
A few minor drawbacks – the recipes take MUCH longer to prepare than what they say. The boxes are a little pricey, though I get boxes with 3 entrees / 2 servings, so that I pay for food, not shipping (which is free with $70 purchase, I think?). Overall, I recommend it for somewhat picky eaters who can chop veggies, just not correctly! 🙂
How are the portion sizes? Specifically, would a meal for three be enough to feed two adults, a teenager and a toddler (who usually just has a little of my dinner and then some fruit) or should I go with a meal for four? I tried one of the other services a couple of years ago and the portion sizes were too small.
I tried the Marley Spoon last week and was really disappointed. They did not ship on the day set causing me a scramble as that was the dinner plan, then I had to run home at lunch to bring the delivery in the next day. When I opened it, the beef had bleed all over everything. Their customer service was terrible as well. They wanted to give me a $10 credit on my next order. Ummmm no thank you. The grocery store would have been less hassle.
Agreed…we’ve tried a lot of companies and Martha’s is our least favorite.
