DIY Anthropologie Capri Blue Volcano Candle Diffuser Scent
Do you love luxury-scented Capri Candles?
Our Hip2Save team may be just a wee bit obsessed with these heavenly smelling Anthropologie candles in a jar, including me. In fact, I set out to DIY the Capri Blue Volcano scent, as it’s a perfect blend of citrus, floral, and woodsy scents, and can make any room smell so fresh and relaxing.
Just look at Collin’s stash of Capri candles! 😱
At full price, the 19oz. sized jar candles can range around $28, like this one on Amazon. However, at Hip2Save, we occasionally feature online deals on Capri Blue candles, and those shelves above are proof that Collin has been taking advantage of those deals! 😉
You can find a huge assortment of these candles in-store and online at Anthropologie, which is why that store smells so magical!
Let’s DIY that scent!
Even though I have a scented candle addiction, too, I’ve actually been trying to use my essential oil diffuser more instead. Diffusing essential oil is a brilliant way to naturally scent the home, and it’s so easy to do. It can also be more frugal to diffuse instead of buying candles and wall plug-ins. Plus, I love that you don’t have to worry as much about a possible fire as you do with candles.
Today, I’m sharing a blend you can diffuse at home that smells similar to Capri Blue Volcano candles using essential oils! It blends both tangerine and grapefruit citrus essential oils with geranium and cypress.
The Aura Cacia brand I’m using is available at my local natural food store, and I enjoy it. Feel free to use whichever brand of essential oils you prefer, as I know there are so many options! Also, I’m sure orange can be subbed in for tangerine and Pine for Cypress (pick your favorite woodsy scent). You can play around with different amounts as well.
DIY Capri Blue Volcano Candle Diffusing Scent
Supplies Needed:
- 4 drops tangerine essential oil
- 3 drops grapefruit essential oil
- 1 drop geranium essential oil
- 2 drops cypress essential oil
Directions:
Add about 200 ml of water and essential oils to the diffuser. Turn on and enjoy this relaxing scent.
This blend really does smell similar!
If you love Capri Blue Volcano candles then this DIY is for you! What a fun way to make your home smell beautiful like the Anthro store, but while enjoying essential oils. I think it’s a fantastic way to get a similar smell to the luxury candles we love so much!
Even better? At roughly 288 drops of oil per 1/2 ounce bottle of essential oils, you get about 690 hours of scented bliss – and for less than one third the price of the seven Anthropologie candles it would take to equal that amount! Talk about making lots of scents – and saving lots of cents! 🙌

Is this for the Volcano candle? Totally fine if you can’t say that on here! I was just checking befor I hunted more oils down;)
Yes! –>Volcano: tropical fruits, sugared oranges, lemons and limes, redolent with lightly exotic mountain greens (FRESH) …
does anyone else think these smell like the peach bellini candles from bath and body works?
So excited to try this! Thanks so much Lina! I have a challenge: any ideas for oils that would be similar to the Leaves scented candle from BBW? Love that scent but much prefer oils!
Thanks Ashley! I’m not sure on that specific candle but maybe others can chime in! Thanks ❤️
I’m not sure if it smells like Leaves but Christmas Spirit by YL is wonderful!
I love a good candle, but have stopped buying them and am using essential oils. Thank you for the blend recipe. 😃 I would love to find more, as I am new to this. I, too, love the Leaves scent from bath and body and pumpkin scents, just about all fall scents.
Plant Therapy has 3 special fall essential oil blends: Pumpkin Pie, Harvest Moon, and Spiced Orange. I just ordered the set online at planttherapy.com, but you can buy them individually, too. You might like some of those.
Love the candle. Just bought missing oils to make this blend 🙂 Can’t wait to try it. Thank you!
Yay! Thanks Jolanya! Enjoy ❤️
I love diffusing and recently took advantage of the deal that was posted for the Capri blue deal that was featured and it smells amazing, so I can’t wait to try this in my diffuser! Thanks!!
Yay!! Enjoy 😉 Thanks for stopping by today Suszy!
Did you buy the Capri diffuser bottle? If so, is it ok to use in a electrical diffuser?
I always want to get one of these essential oil diffusers but then I keep reading how certain essential oils are really bad for dogs and can make them really sick. I guess I need to research more to see if it it certain scents or something. Anyone else know anything about this?
Ya a quick online search seems to produce mixed answers on which ones to avoid – I’d ask your vet to be sure. Great question!
I have a dog and diffuse every day 3-4 times a day. As long as the diffuser is out of reach and the dog has a escape route if it gets too strong, it is totally fine.
I do not put the oils On my dog but have never had an issue with diffusing.
Hello! I’d like to try and make a candle that smells like this. Any recommendations on how much of the essential oils to add to wax?
Hi! Can you do a dupe for Capri Blu’s Guava Blossom pleeeaasseee?
You know I’ve honestly never made candles so don’t want to give wrong info. Maybe it would depend on how big, but I found this https://bungii.com/diy-volcano-candle/
I was told if I have a cat or dog not to uses a diffuser because it is not good for them the scents
Excited to try this! Have you ever tried mixing these oils with soy wax to make candles in this scent?
I haven’t but that sounds super fun!
It doesn’t smell like Volcano to me. 🙁 I tried making it in bulk, following your ratios: 120ml tangerine, 80ml grapefruit, 30ml geranium, 60ml cypress. The cypress just overpowers it and makes me nauseous.
SO sorry to hear you didn’t care for it, Dustin. Thanks for the honest comment on what you thought of the scents.
Have you used this essential oil combination to make a capri blue volcano cleaner? I’d love to know your recipe if you have. Thank you!
I have not! That sounds amazing though. Let us know if you try!
