That’s a nice and beautiful calendar with nice designs children would like to check up on their events to come up. To note an important day or a remarkable day in their life. That’s really awesome and very creative
Too bad Aldi can’t sell wine in my state. Pretty sure I would buy that advent calendar if it didn’t require a road trip!
Seconding the desire for Aldi’s wine advent calendar!! Unfortunately we’re in the pnw. Sigh!
My favorite advent calendar to get for my kids is the 99 cent chocolate calendar from Trader Joe’s. First of all – THE PRICE. Second, no little plastic toy pieces all over the place. 😍
I don’t live close enough to Trader Joe’s to make the trip for their chocolate advent calendars, but Aldi always puts out a 99 cent advent calendar as well. The chocolate is a decent quality, my kids like them, and it is just a very small piece which is perfect. (Confession: I usually buy one for myself as well to get my little chocolate fix without going overboard during the holiday season!)
Aldi and Trader Joe’s are owned by the same company and carry many of the same items. 🙂
Yes! Also & Trader Joe owners are brothers. Both are great!
Aldi**.
You forgot Trader Joe’s! 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼
We love the Trader Joe’s calendar too!
Thanks, Janelle! We’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for those too!
I bought that little jam advent calendar for my 10 year old son last year and I was a big hit!! My other kids were envious of his unique advent calendar and his toast and yummy jam ritual every morning! (the other kids liked their advent calendars too, dont worry!)
That does sound like a great morning treat! Thanks for sharing with us, Amanda! 😉
Fannie May has a yummy advent calendar too!
Awesome! Thanks for the heads up, Becki! We’ll have to look for that one too!
Does Lindt still make one?
DAVIDsTea also makes an advent calender, it is great for tea lovers and kind of different.
Ooh! I’d like that one too! Thanks for taking a moment to comment!
If you have a horse lover – Schleich makes an advent calendar with collectible horses. They sell out fast!
Thank you!! My niece is a tween and still likes to enjoy Christmas the way the younger kids do. This is perfect!
Awesome! Just hunted it down on Amazon. My 9 year old will be so excited1
Ulta normally has a calendar also! I’ve already ordered the L’Occitane advent. Thinking of getting the QVC one too lol 😉
The fruit spread sounds super cute!!
How cool! Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to look for those too!
I’m making advent calendars for my girls n nieces this year. Been collecting supplies n miniature gifts since last Christmas. They will come with miniature display shelf to put their surprises on. Will post on Happy Friday.
Oh awesome! LOVE that idea, Kay!
I have a10 year old boy that does not like legos and does not like candy. I found a coins from around the world advent calendar but I’m looking for more ideas? I saw the jam calendar and I was also looking at making one with Magic the gathering cards since he’s into that. Any other ideas for preteen boys?
Where did you find the coins around the world? That sounds amazing!
Here’s a coin advent calendar I found. https://www.littletoncoin.com/shop/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=29555&referralCode=WRB&productId=325476&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9ZDeBRD9ARIsAMbAmobrV-wJocdbBaMpFqMDhKnqsyhxivN7H3GC4kWqfp_Mrbcl2NS3YZMaAlcVEALw_wcB
Have anyone ever got any charm bracelet advert calendar? Wanting to do that with my girls this year
Laura, I got a cute charm bracelet/ necklace advent calendar on Zulily last year. I bought it for myself, but it would work for younger girls too.
Yep, got one from Walmart. It was cute and decent quality I’ve wore it for two years 🙂
Amazon has a few:

If you have a beer lover, Costco had an adorable beer advent calendar. It was $60 for 24 cans of German beer.
Have you seen it available this year yet? I’ve been waiting on it.
Yes! We picked some up this week! We have been waiting for them! Love the beer advent calendar!
Oh wow! My dad would sure love to have that one! Thanks for mentioning it!
My husband and I are big fans of craft beer and we make a beer advent calendar each year. We each are responsible for buying 12 different beers (which is pretty easy if your state allows you to buy singles – in TX we can get these at the grocery store or a bottle shop for about $2 each). If we have a lot going on that year or we’re feeling lazy, we just do 6 each instead of 12. We use 2 different wrapping papers so we can tell them apart and then put them in an empty beer case box since it has the dividers. If you don’t have one, liqueur stores usually have tons of free boxes. I don’t decorate the outside, but you could. Then each day we open the beer the other person brought (easy to tell since we use different wraps) and split it. It’s fun since you’re surprised 50% of the time. You could do this with wine coolers, little airplane bottles, mini wine bottles, etc. Just wanted to share in case someone is looking for a fun homemade gift idea that’s relatively inexpensive and easy to pull off.
I’m going to try and score the cheese advent calendar at Aldi’s to pair with our beer calendar. That would be perfect!
I got my kids the socks countdown last year. It wasn’t truly an advent calendar because it wasn’t 24 days. It was a hit, which is difficult for a 14 year old boy and 16 year old girl. I hope Target has them again this year
I liked those too! Hoping they have them again!
Have you seen the Fill your own advent calendar? It is designed to hold beer but can be used for all sorts of items. Craft Advent Box is the website.
How cool! Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to check it out!
I bought the Barbie Careers advent calendar last year for my seven year old daughter. Her first advent calendar. She liked it so much she wants an advent calendar this year too. Only now we are looking for the L.OL. advent calendar.
Thank you Hip2Save for posting these ideas and for everyone else’s ideas too. I have never bought an advent calendar before. My kids are teenagers now so I thought I’d do one for them this year just for fun. I found some fun ideas for my daughter within the post but will keep looking for my son. Thanks again! 😊
Aww, that’s great to hear, Katie! I’m sure they will enjoy them! You’re SO welcome!
We’ve gotten the fisher price -play mobile and peppa pig ones in past years – all were totally worth it- as I bought them when they were listed on hip2save on sale. Bought the hatchimal and lol outfit of the day – to use for this year. I’ve also purchased the 12 days of beauty from target in the past which was awesome 😊
Oh my husband would love that Aldi cheese Advent calendar! Do they typically sell out quickly? I hope you remind us when we get closer to sale date 😬
Paw patrol advent calendar from Amazon was a huge hit with our daughter last year. We ordered one for this year too.
Too cute! Glad you could grab another one this year!
Neither of my kids wanted the Lego ones this year. My daughter(4yrs) is excited for the Barbie calendar. My son(8yrs) wasn’t impressed with any we’ve seen. He specifically said “Ugh, not again” when I suggested the Lego. He said they just all seem the same( he’s had one the last 2 years, but liked them when opening). This year he has chosen to just go with our basic advent that I can fill with reese’s cups.
Crayola has a fun Advent calendar. Just wish they’d offer new ones every year.
I agree on the crayola. There’s a Thomas and friends one I bought on amazon that came with 24 of the tiny trains, BEST $20 I ever spent!
SWEET! Thanks for sharing, Sandi!
We’ve bought the H&M jewelry advent calendar the last 2 years and we really love it.
What a neat score! I may have to grab that one too! Thanks for mentioning it, Montessa!
What is in that one?
What is in that one?
My 14 year old daughter loves Legos so each year she gets the Star Wars or City Lego Advent Calendar. Easy! My oldest daughter has never liked Legos or chocolate so each year I have made hers. When she liked crafts and stationary, I went with those. Last year I chose to do a K-pop themed calendar since she’s a huge fan. I started in September and purchased 24 items on e-bay that included keychains, lomo Cards, Mini posters, pens and buttons. I ended up spending about what I do for the Lego calendar and she loved it!
We have and love the Melissa and doug one, it’s reusable, never have to buy another one. Its super cute, too
My 19 and 23 year old daughters loved The Body Shop advent calendars last year and I picked up 2 for them again this year
I made an advent calendar from a hang on a door shoe organizer. I put little stuff wrapped in tissue paper for two of my kids that don’t like the LEGO or other toys ones anymore. Each kid has a specific color. I’ve done American Girl doll size stuff the past two years for my daughter that I’ve bought secondhand. My oldest son (11) is getting harder to buy for. We have done Skylanders and LEGO Dimensions for him. Another good thing about the shoe organizer is that the pockets are pretty big so you aren’t limited as much.
