Walmart Marketplace Offering FREE 2-Day Shipping and In-Store Returns
Shopping online just got easier!
Starting in November, Walmart.com is making millions of items available for FREE two-day shipping without a membership fee – just in time for the holidays! 🎄This is just ONE of their exciting changes to their Marketplace.
The next exciting part is they’re adding free and simple returns for online purchases to stores! Right now, the Marketplace seller manages and supports all aspects of your order (this includes shipping and handling, customer service, exchanges, and returns). But starting in November, Walmart.com makes the process for items purchased from Marketplace sellers easier. Just return items to any one of their 4,700 Walmart stores. Sweet!
Just my 2 cents…I liked when the Sidekicks (and Collin’s) comments were highlighted. Sometimes, they’re giving additional info or a suggestion on how to get a deal to work and it was easy to find.

Does this mean when you purchase things on WalMart.com that AREN’T actually sold by WalMart can be returned to the WalMart stores? Sorry, I’m just confused.
If so, that’s awesome! I always narrow my search options to just items sold through WalMart.

Hmmmm that could have come off rude but my wow was that Walmart would allow the 3rd party seller returns. I only shop Walmart products but have a friend that always forgets 🙄

Yes! You will be able to return items purchased from Marketplace sellers, in store! SO awesome!
I just contacted Walmart to ask this question and I was told that they will not except returns that are sold from other vendors. They will only put you in contact with them for a return or exchange. Was the person I talked to wrong??

This is great news! Now I just wish that Walmart would include packing slips with online orders, so it’s easy to return an item. My last order arrived without a packing slip and they couldn’t have cared less when I contacted them about it.
TOTALLY agree. They make returns so difficult when you have to print hem up before going to the store.
Your return details are all in the app (there should be a barcode they can just scan)! I believe you can even start the return from home and drop it off now!

Hi Vanessa! If you have the Walmart app, and login to your account, you may be able to start the return process in the app. I have done this successfully, twice now and it was super easy. Hope that helps!

I work at one of their fufillment centers and we don’t even have a copy of your invoice of your order. It just tells us how many items and we scan what’s placed in that cubby to be packed. It won’t let us pack the order unless it’s complete, but some people override that function. I personally do not do that. I won’t send anything in any condition that I would not find acceptable. I have even had problems with my own online orders. Having a copy of your purchase order would 100% easier for us Packers.
Anyone else having issue with the app taking a long time to load the last few weeks?
DARN! Be sure to delete and then reinstall the app, and you should find it to work much better for you! Let us know if that does not help!

I too am a little bit confused. Are you saying that 2 day shipping will be free on ANY order you make from the Walmart website , like Target is doing? Thanks

Wow, this process of returning third-party items in store…miiiigggghht….tempt me to try another seller on WM’s site. I had a few bad experiences with Amazon third-party sellers and the return process was a nightmare and took forever. Needless to say, I have not bought anything third party for years, so this process is already a HUGE improvement.

I used to work for Walmart in Customer Service and the 3rd party returns would be a nightmare. Customers would get angry with us and not understand that it wasn’t Walmart that sold the item but sellers on the site as to why we couldn’t take the return back. Happy for my former co workers that they fixed this.

My Walmart can do a return without the app. I don’t want one more app on my phone. They just need the order number, which I copy off the confirmation email and write on a slip of paper or take a picture of with my phone. As to third party sellers, I just bought something for the first time from one, thinking it was a sure deal. It was nothing like the picture, and I’m out $11.
Is this a temporary thing for the holidays or will it continue into the new year also?
