Hoping to score a 20lb one since I couldn’t before Xmas. It’s hard to know which one is the best.
Costco.com sells the 20 lb weighted blankets.
How do you know what weight is best?
It should be about 10% of your body weight
Anyone know if this is a good brand? A bit smaller than the one that I missed on zulily, but just hoping for a good quality now
I would suggest to buy one with a removable cover so you can watch it
Wash it. Not watch it.
I’m not sure I quite understand these blankets? Claustrophobic so doubt I would like.
I’m claustrophobic as well and I don’t have any problems using one. I find one to be very soothing.
They started as a therapy for sensory sensitive individuals who often crave tight or heavy feelings to help to relax. They should be 10 percent of body weight and when used at night often help with going to sleep more quickly. You may also see lap pads and weighted vests which may be used to help calm and steady kids.
Anyone know a good place to buy a removable cover that’s not real expensive? I need one for my son and myself but the ones I’ve seen are so expensive
I bought one of these and tried to love it but I just didn’t. It was 15 lb. I liked it for something short like watching tv but could not sleep with it. After a while it was too much…just too heavy of a blanket. And, I only see it being used during cooler months. It would be too hot when the temperatures warms up (unless you keep your home really cool with a/c). I know some people really love them!
It took me about ten days to get used to mine and now I sing its praises because it truly helps me sleep better at night.
My husband got me a 25 lb one (I’m 220 lbs so it was slightly heavier than recommended) and it was heavyyyyyy. To the point of feelings like a couldn’t breathe. I’ve always slept with heavy blankets and still find them comforting, just a word of warning for people wanting to try these out. I feel like the 15lb one should be sufficient for most people, especially those just wanting some extra comfort.
I love my 15 pound weighted blanket. This brand distributes the weight evenly in pockets. It is too warm in the summer, but perfect for the spring, winter and fall.
