ToysRUs Faves Might Be Back in Time for Christmas
Are you still a ToysRUs kid at heart?
Well, take heart: Recently, we wrote about Toys”R”Us emerging as new company Tru Kids Inc. At that time, Tru Kids Brands became the proud parent of Toys”R”Us, Babies”R”Us, Geoffrey, and more than 20 toy and baby brands!
According to the CEO of Tru Kids Brands:
“We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to write the next chapter of Toys”R”Us by launching a newly imagined omni channel retail experience for our beloved brands here in the U.S. In addition, our strong global footprint is led by experienced and passionate operating teams that are 100% focused on growth.”
Could TRU and BRU make a comeback?
While we don’t know all the details yet (stay tuned!), Tru Kids’ global partners are set to open 70 stores this year in Asia, India, and Europe – all to bring the joy of Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us to more customers.
This means that we can expect to see this new brand in some form by the 2019 holiday season – if not sooner! 🙌🏻 And we’re sincerely hoping they bring Tru Kids’ retail stores to the United States, too! We don’t expect to know more details about store openings until this summer, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we do.
Stay tuned to Hip2Save for all the details!
Will they be honoring old Toy R Us gift cards?
While it’s possible, I don’t think so because it is an entirely new company.
I actually loved their Koala baby stuff! Shoes, blankets, we had a ton! I was sad to see that aspect go! I also loved as an expecting parent to 1) have my own parking spot and 2) be able to walk around a baby store and physically touching and trying the baby gear! We live in a smaller town and it was really the only place that had any type of variety for gear.
They will do fine if they don’t over charge like Toys R Us, and offer more deals. People will always look for the items they want, and buy them at the lowest price, which is why Amazon does so well…. I wish Amazon would just open a few stores 🙂
🤞Fingers crossed because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to just go browse the aisles of TRU & BRU for fun in the last few months. The only place we have w baby and kids items is target and they have very limited inventory and are usually sold out/not restocked of most of it anyway 😞
Did they just file bankruptcy to settle/clear the debts and then rebrand and reorganize with a new name?
Or was this a company on its own that bought the brands?
