For anyone considering trying the Clairol Natural Instinct hair color — I’ve used it for years but they recently changed the box AND the formula. They ruined a good thing. It makes my hair so greasy (seriously, like a cup of shortening would) that I have to wash it immediately after coloring – and shampooing that soon washes out a lot of root color, making the product almost useless. Even after shampooing, my normally dry hair still has a slightly greasy feel. I refuse to use permanent hair color and no other brand sells the semi-permanent — only Clairol. Hoping they change it back to OLD formula!
Thanks for the honest feedback, Josie!
Josie, Sally’s Beauty (beauty supply store in my area) sells a semi permanent hair color. Hopefully you have one near you.
Thanks, Sarah. I checked their website and it appears to be a Clairol product that is equivalent to the old Loving Care line they used to sell in stores. I don’t like that type of semi-permanent color because it fades all over starting with the first shampoo. Have you tried any of the semi-permanent ones from Sally’s? If so, can you recommend what you used? Thank you.
My target wouldn’t take the printed coupons
