I have had bad experiences with Canon printers. One NEVER worked. Then the ink dries out even if you don’t use it. The reason these are so cheap is that you are paying so much for ink that you may print 2 pages and in a month need to buy refills again. The last printer I bought was the Epson ink tank. I LOVE it.

I bought my Canon printer online after seeing the TV presentation. It shipped, but then I waited until the ink ran out of my old trusty Brother printer to open the new one. (BAD MISTAKE) It was after the 30 day return window. It never worked. I tried everything. Online help, Youtube, etc. I finally admitted defeat and carried it to the trash can. Canon makes great cameras. I will just leave it at that. I will never buy another Canon printer.

Any inkjet printer ink will dry up if not used very often, those need to be used multiple times per week to keep fresh and working good, so if you don’t print often just expect them to possibly dry up

I owned this printer and it is an ink hog and the ink itself can be pricey. I would not recommend this for printing coupons or anything other then plain text documents.

I have this printer and it’s the best one I’ve ever had after buying several much more expensive brands. The ink is also less expensive than others.

Thank you for all of your helpful insights. I looking for a wireless printer (don’t laugh, I don’t have a wireless) for a while and always take into account ink cost.

Honestly the ink output cannon lists is WRONG (I used this info to purchase this same or similar printer at the beginning of the year as I was out of ink for my trusty hp- which the ink keeps getting more and more ridiculously expensive for- but the yield/output for hp has been pretty accurate- something like 300-500 pages- which was a lot more than cannon, but per page cannon was cheaper- if the yield was accurate)… I always put my printers on draft until ink printed is clearly low- then up it all the way so I squeeze all the ink out- lo and behold after 10-15 pages of printing (only coupons) the black ink cartridge popped up a notification that it was low!!!! Well I’ve probably printed 20-30 more pages since then and been ok, but this thing is an ink hog compared to the yield provided by cannon …. so either the printer is lying to get you to buy more ink (for those ppl that change it when it says low), or cannon is lying big time about the yield (eye roll)… also of note even though I was printing in color, the black ink went to low ink really fast and the color ink only went to low the last couple of pages which is odd… if anyone else has printers they’re getting rid of, don’t forget Best Buy will recycle them!!

I bought a Cannon Pixma not sure what version from Target on a deal that was posted on this website and had a horrible time with the printer. The ink always seemed to be low and only after printing about 10 pages. I was constantly replacing the ink felt like I spent way too much money on ink. I have since invested a little more money into an HP from Costco which usually around this time of the year they have deals on their printers. I signed up for HP Instant ink and pay $3 per month to print 50 pages. Those pages rollover from month to month as well. You can choose your plan based on how many pages you print in a month. Then they send you ink cartridges when your ink is low. I have been doing this since June and haven’t had the ink cartridges replaced yet. The pages can be full color or black and white, there is no limit on the type of printing you can do. It has been a great option for my family and to only spend $36 per year to have ink sent to my house as opposed to about $120 per year with the Canon printer has been a life changer. Hope this helps someone.
