have you checked out the Kohl’s Cares books? they are $5 unless you catch them on clearance for $2.50. and they usually have really cute stories. my kiddo had a bunch of them when she was younger. right now i think they have snoopy ones for $2.50 & you can use kohl’s cash to buy them.
