Get paid to pass your used baby carrier on to a new baby!

Ergobaby recently launched a new buyback program to give parents an easy way to recycle their baby carriers so that they can be restored and used by another family. The new program, called Everlove, allows families to exchange their used baby carriers for a gift card or buy a restored baby carrier at a discounted price.

The brand hopes that this program will benefit families on both sides of the exchange and the planet as well. Restoring a carrier is estimated to save up to 96% of energy use, 95% of water use, and 84% of CO2 emissions versus manufacturing a new one.

To see if your Ergobaby carrier is eligible for the Everlove program, simply take the online quiz and answer a few questions. If your carrier is determined to be resaleable, you’ll receive a unique ID number and be asked to leave a story, words of encouragement, a small note, or a memory for the new owners.

Once you’ve provided your information and shared your story, you’ll receive a shipping label to print. Just pack up your carrier and ship it out! After Ergobaby receives your carrier, you’ll have the opportunity to select a $50 gift card to Ergobaby.com, a $30 donation to Baby2Baby, or a $20 gift card to the retailer of your choice.

The goal of Ergobaby’s Everlove program is to provide families with an opportunity to own a previously loved carrier certified as a safe and genuine Ergobaby product. To this end, all of the refurbished carriers will be deep-cleaned using a naturally-derived, baby-safe method that is both environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The refurbished carriers must also pass an extensive 30-point inspection to confirm their authenticity and ensure that they pass the company’s standards of quality and durability. Finally, the carriers will be offered for sale online beginning in late spring 2020. As this program continues to evolve and grow, Ergobaby hopes to buy back a wider variety of used baby products.

The Everlove program has a helpful FAQ page and additional information here, including a list of accepted carriers. The company cautions consumers not to send back any carriers that aren’t accepted, as they will not return them once they’ve been received.

You could probably sell yours on Facebook marketplace or a consignment sale and get more money for it. It is a sweet idea though but it’s $50 to Ergo or a $20 gift card.
