They look way too big from the picture

    • MoMinLA

I was going to say the same! They look like they’re barely hanging on…

    • Demi

I had to wear one at Costco the others day and I could barely breathe. I run everyday and I’m in good shape but it was a killer. I’m wondering if that huge one is the way to go because my face was all sweaty and this looks like you could at least get some air.

      • snezhinka

Wear only 100% cotton masks, also more layers means harder to breathe. Stay safe.

Beware MADE IN CHINA, not the USA. Choose USA items to support OUR economy 😉🇺🇸

    • Reda

      I agree!

    • Joanne

I bought one today and when I got home saw it was made in China. Not only was it too big (even after washing) it has no nose clip. I put one in. Not happy they are selling masks made in China.

      • Susan W

And here’s the dilemma. Do you want the inexpensive mask or do you want to pay more for made in the USA? If you like a bargain (and I assume u do or you wouldn’t be on hip2save), then it’s unlikely that it will be made here. Not necessarily made in China, could be Vietnam or another country but not the USA. American wages and benefits are far higher then in other countries where these type of goods are manufactured.

For everyone looking for a mask, please know that a tight fit is essential for optimal protection. The idea is to force all the air you take in or out to go through the filter. I know wearing a mask is very uncomfortable especially when it’s tight and feels suffocating, but wearing a baggy one could result in you not protecting or being as protected as you think you are. Definitely not trying to tell anyone what to do, but just wanted to make sure people were aware.

Though this is true the main reason for wearing a facemask is to protect those around you. Masks are most effective when worn by the person carrying the virus to prevent the spread to others. It doesn’t offer much protection against getting sick. I just think its important for people not to have a false sense of security or protection from wearing a mask.

      • Susan W

This is true so best to stay away from people who aren’t wearing masks or wearing them improperly. Another problem is that people wear them under their nose or under their chin. Either way, nobody is really protected unless a mask fits tightly from the bridge of your nose to underneath your chin.

  4. MelRox

Wow! Is that really the picture Joanns wants to represent them and expect me to pay money. I stopped shopping there a while ago. Nothing but issues with online/app orders. I’m usually ok in the store but not worth the chance/price most times.

  5. Eva

I came to the comments to see if anyone else thought is was odd that JoAnn’s would use a picture that clearly shows that the mask is barely hanging on the woman’s face. Glad I’m not the only one who noticed.

  6. Kathleen

Those look cheap 🙁 it’s worth it to find someone local making them, so you can make sure it’s a tight fit around the sides, top and bottom. The ones with nose wire help to keep glasses from fogging up

  7. Kim

One of the reviews said it was a good fit after washing. Mine are in the wash machine right now 🙂

  8. Susan W

Dazed and confused was 100% correct until she said she didn’t want to tell people what to do. You should tell people what to do it they’re actually thinking that this mask will serve any purpose. You get what you pay for. If you’re glasses fog up then there is no seal and you might as well not be wearing the mask. This is a good mask for someone who only wants to get into a grocery store and doesn’t care about their own health or their families or anyone around them. I am not fit and do not run any days but I wear a tight fitting mask whenever I leave my house and I do not have problems breathing. It makes me sweat and I am uncomfortable but I would rather be a little uncomfortable today and not end up with a lifetime of breathing issues or worse.

I know people said these were huge but I’ve been making masks and they are 8.5-9 inches wide for adults. The only difference is I sew a pocket on each side to slide the elastic into it so people can adjust the elastic and hide the knot in the pocket. I do think the pocket helps because it can be scrunched up a bit and molds to most face well. But these don’t look bad to me! Cute prints and available for curbside.

Glad I’m not the only who has issues with their site and app! Takes me an hour to order anything on there! Horrible app and website! Stuff jumps from being in stock to out of stock and then switches from pickup to shipping… then they cancel half my order anyhow! Probably worse than Kmart/Shop Your Way used to be!

  11. snezhinka

Anyone actually bought a mask from JoAnn? Just wondering what you think about it, if you’ve tried it out.

    • Kim

Mine are fresh out of the wash. It fits my teen son perfectly. It does appear a little bulky on my teen daughter. She put a little knot in the elastic that goes around the ears and it now looks good

      • snezhinka

Thanks, Kim! I appreciate your feedback.

    • Joanne

I bought one and was disappointed to see they are made in China. It was too big and had no nose bridge clip. I put one in myself and washed the mask. It was still too big and will also have to adjust the elastic. I make masks. I will stick to making my own. These may be cute, but not effective if it does not fit

  12. Susan W

It does not matter how it looks or how it feels. It matters that it protects you and the people around you. If your glasses fog up, than the virus can get in (or out). It’s just as important that it doesn’t get out because there is a period when you have no symptoms and can infect other people. It should have a tight fit and more than one layer to protect you and others that you come in contact with. Good masks have a filter layer. My mask makes me sweat but it does not fog up my glasses or make it difficult to breathe even though I am not a person who is particularly fit.

Shipping kills this deal… And only one available 20 miles away and no store pickup so could be gone if I went to get it.
