NBC Just Announced Plan to End Bluprint Streaming Service
NBCUniversal has made the decision to shut down Bluprint. Known as “the Netflix of crafting,” Bluprint (formerly Craftsy) started as a platform for a la carte crafting classes before moving to a subscription model.
CEO John Levisay posted a statement on Bluprint’s website, informing customers of the platform’s impending closure. In it, he said:
“On behalf of all the Craftsy/Bluprint employees, I want to express our gratitude and appreciation to you for being with us on this journey. The remarkable work you have all done is unforgettable and has made a difference; however, our business is not sustainable in the current economic climate.”
For those wondering what will happen to the content they purchased, Bluprint is considering various options to make sure users can keep the individual classes they paid for including classes that were purchased with Bluprint’s “Forever Credits.” The company is also planning to issue prorated refunds for paid subscribers based on the streaming service’s end date.
Bluprint’s final day of service and other details have yet to be finalized. The company will continue to provide more information as is becomes available.
Thatās terrible! I just started subscribing once this pandemic started. Something new to do during this time. š
So sad. I love my subscription
Really? I thought the content was awful & I found much better material on Pintriest. But hey, each 2 ther own & im sorry 4 those who use it. I hope u find another alternative that works for you!
Craftsy had 1/2 million subscribers, then rebranding to Bluprint lost trust with subscribers. Now it’s all disbanded. CEOs take note you had a gold mine
I own 88 classes I purchased when it was Craftsy. Loved it then. Hated it once it went to Bluprint. Had a feeling this was eventually going to happen after the change in format.
so much for “forever content”
I think all people who have forever content should share it. I am in for it.

Very sad news, but Iām
hopeful that some suitable solution will be created for all of us who took the āown foreverā status of the classes along with other contents of our personal libraries at face value. I would like to have mine converted to a media where it would be in my control since when Iām not near an internet connection is the time when I most appreciate crafting education.
Please dont do this. We need our crafts, esp.at a time when we all have to stay home, and there are so many people we make quilts for to give them away. What person in their right mind would be so selfish to have no regard for creativity to shut this company down???
