Planning to Fly Again Soon? Book Your Airline Tickets by June 30th!

If you’ve been dreaming of a tropical getaway, now is the time to consider booking your airline tickets.
Even if you are not fully confident you’ll want to embark on an airplane in 2020, almost all major airlines are offering Peace of Mind Travel Waivers and Cancellation policies that really remove much of the risk & worry.
Even better, airline ticket prices are currently lower than ever across the country. But don’t expect these cheap fares to last for too long! According to MarketWatch, “prices won’t stay low forever, and travelers shouldn’t bank on deals sticking around.”
Book your flights before or on June 30th, 2020:
As detailed below, if you book a flight on or before June 30th, 2020, you should be able to take advantage of low prices and retain the flexibility of changing your flight to a later date with no change fees.
Check out the Peace of Mind Waivers that these major airlines are offering:
- Alaska is waiving change fees on new/existing tickets bought before or on June 30th, for travel taking place through May 31, 2021. Customers will have one year from their original travel date to take their rescheduled trip.
- American Airlines is waiving change fees on new/existing tickets bought before or on June 30th for travel through September 30th, 2020 (this excludes Basic Economy tickets). All rebooked travel must be completed by the end of 2021.
- Delta allows new/existing tickets bought by June 30th to be rescheduled with no change fee for up to one year from the original purchase date. If you bought a ticket before April 30th of this year for flights between now and September 30th, there are also no change fees and you may use your Delta credits through September 30, 2022.
- JetBlue is waiving change fees on new/existing tickets bought before or on June 30th. Customers making changes will receive a JetBlue credit they can use for up to 24 months from the date of issuance.
- Southwest will allow you to cancel your flight up until 10 minutes before its scheduled departure and the travel funds will now be valid all the way through September 7, 2022.
- Spirit is waiving change fees on new/existing tickets bought before or on June 30th. If you cancel your flight, you will receive a full purchase price reservation credit instantly, that can be applied toward future airfare, bags, seats, vacation packages, taxes, and fees.
- United – book a flight by June 30, 2020 and you can change it for free over the next 12 months.

For American Airlines, they just changed it so it canβt be a basic economy ticket. It says in the fine print while booking now.
Unfortunately, with my age and risk factors, I’ll only be able to fly again once there’s a COVID vaccine. π

Yeah I mean it may not happen in your lifetime but if you have no reason to fly then best not to risk it.
I canceled my flights this year and got a credit. when I tried booking for next year they are twice as much now! Double the price π
This is common – flight prices are often very high more than 6 months in advance because of how flight schedules are set. On average, prices are best about 90 days out from date of flight. HTH! π
