I could buy 5 different dresses on amazon at that price lol, no thank you. It’s funny that I’ll spend that on a Matilda Jane outfit for my 3 girls but wouldn’t dare spend that much on one item for myself #momlife I guess.
Granted if you have 3 girls and you buy the outfit for your oldest one then the other girls will get to wear it later when they’re that size. I’m the same way though, the idea of spending $79 on a dress for myself makes we want to throw up. One of my coworkers yesterday told me she’s going to spend $260 on a hair appointment and I just cut my hair at home myself, lol. I’m sure someone will go for these I guess.
I completely feel you, I use Groupon for my hair- but that hasn’t been done in almost a year! Yes, you’re absolutely right! They do get handed down. But I want them to match so I just “MUST” buy all 3 of them an outfit at the same time lol! Needless to say, other family members enjoy the hand-me downs as well!
The dresses are cute. Not my style, ( maybe the embroidered chambray with that white mock neck underneath) but her eyeglass collection is awesome! My daughter needed new glasses and all the ones we chose where Draper James. I was like “Who’s this Draper James? He has great designs!” Sorry, Reece. SHE has great designs. I digress, she always gets compliments. Have a great weekend everyone! The caffeine is kicking in 😜
Oooh I need new glasses, thanks for the tip!
Back in March Draper James did a promo with free dresses for teachers. Did anyone get one?
I saw on a site a bunch of teachers are filling a suit- they only had like 50 dresses to give away and generated free advertisement by doing so…
I didn’t get one. I’m not mad about not getting a free dress. However, it is frustrating that they took a lot of personal information from me (that was more than just the standard name and address info) for the promotion and then only ended up giving out 250 dresses. If I had known that “while supplies last” was only 250 dresses I probably wouldn’t have given out this very personal information due to the odds being so low to win. The consolation coupon was useless to me. Those dresses are expensive and a teacher’s salary is so low. The company’s heart was in the right place but they didn’t really think this through before they went live with the promotion.
I will NEVER spend any money with Draper James after they did us teachers dirty! It was a total scam and their explanation with, “Oh, we didn’t think so many people would enter”, was RIDICULOUS. I thought I was so helpful, encouraging all of my fellow teacher friends to apply. Instead, I was embarrassed!
Thank you for this post. I have been eyeing the ruffle shift dress for about a year but couldn’t fathom paying the regular price. Now with the sale and some birthday money, I was able to get it.
Yay! You’re welcome, Kristie! Happy Birthday!
I know some people have $79 for a “sale” dress, I wish I did. It’s a pass for me, especially in these trying times this is not a good deal. Unless of course it fits perfectly, lasts for years and never changes quality (could be? I won’t know).
I understand. Money is very tight for us right now, too, like so many. In these uncertain times I’m trying to cut costs everywhere, and stash as much as I can. I’d decided to use a barely used linen duvet cover to make a dress for my daughter for her birthday, and these dresses provided some inspiration. 🤷♀️
It’s so hard for me to get past her whole DUI thing with her husband. When she yelled at the cop “do you know who I am?”
I just can’t support her company knowing that about her.
I guess your true self comes out when your drunk and I love how she tries to portray this good girl image now.
I really need a denim dress but as a curvy I’m on the fence thanks to a review of these dresses on her site. For those on the fence, you can get $10 off a purchase of $75 for sharing your email
I love the ruffle shift dress! It’s like nothing that I currently own. If only there wasn’t a pandemic so I could have places to go to wear it.
I thought I would find her dresses cute but….not in this life time. The dresses seem so old timey.
