Delight Your Chicken with this Cozy Christmas Sweater from Etsy
It’s official – Etsy sells everything and it’s all totally adorable.
Christmas will be here before you know it! It’s that time of year when our collective thoughts turn to peace on earth, joy to the world, and pondering what chickens really want for Christmas.
If you’re struggling to dress your laying hen for family photos or looking to surprise your bird with a cozy gift this year, look no further than Etsy for the perfect solution to these dilemmas we never knew existed!
When most people think about dressing a bird for the holidays, they’re probably picturing a process that takes place in the kitchen (our apologies to all the chickens reading this)! But Esty seller AnimalFunandFashion is taking a completely different approach with this festive Crocheted Christmas Sweater.
This cozy sweater is red with white trim and has adorable Santa Claus buttons for gently fitting the garment over your chicken’s wings. You can also request a different color combo from the seller if your hen has a different vision in mind for her Christmas look. This handmade sweater ranges in price from $15.90 to $19.60 (+ shipping from The Netherlands), depending on which size you select for your feathered friend.
There is, however, one note of caution from the seller – sweaters may not be safe for chickens to wear all the time because they can interfere with molting or the yarn can get tangled in the bird’s feet if the fit is incorrect. It should be just right for your Christmas sweater party or family photos though, so grab one while you can!
Now isn’t that just something else 😂
Ok that’s seriously cute and hilarious!
Is this an early April Fools joke? 😂
It’s real!
At first I thought I was losing it and that I misread the word children as chicken. But nope, it is indeed chicken.
A word of caution: You should only do the red sweater if you only have one chicken. Otherwise, all of the other chickens will peck at the red sweater and end up injuring the chicken that is wearing it. (A blue or purple sweater would be okay for all of them) I’m a chicken farmer… just saying 😁
Yes to this!
I know people will put sweaters on bantam Frizzles chicken breeds when they are molting in the fall because those with curly feathers to molt hard and literally look like deli rotisserie chicken with their head and feet still attached.
Awesome! That’s a beautiful cozy Christmas sweater.
