Imagine completing your next Costco run without ever setting foot inside the store! 🙌

For some Costco members, part of the fun of shopping at the warehouse club is taking a leisurely stroll through the aisles to see what’s new. For others, the goal is to get in and get out as quickly as possible. If you’re this kind of Costco shopper, then we have some good news for you!

It appears that Costco is finally offering curbside pickup at select locations in New Mexico. Currently, Costco members can try the new curbside pickup feature at any of the club’s Albuquerque, NM locations. While this service is only available at a very limited number of stores, Costco fans are hoping that this means the company is testing curbside pickup for a large-scale, companywide rollout!

Curbside pickup is available for Costco members only, and item prices are the same as in-warehouse pricing at the time the order is placed. There are about 2,000 items eligible for curbside pickup, including all groceries and select non-food items.

If you live in the greater Albuquerque area and want to try Costco’s new curbside pickup feature, you can shop through Costco.com or the Costco App, where you’ll have the opportunity to choose your warehouse and a one-hour pickup timeframe under Same Day Delivery options. After you place your order, Costco employees will take care of your shopping!

When your order is ready for pickup, you’ll receive a text message telling you where to park and how to check-in. Participating Costco Warehouses now have dedicated pickup parking spaces. A Costco employee will deliver your order to your vehicles in a contactless manner. Tips are not accepted.

While the prospect of this new convenience is certainly exciting, there are some details to be aware of. There is a minimum order of $100 required for curbside pickup, and there is a $10 pickup fee charged on each pickup order. Costco reports that this fee is necessary because curbside pickup adds an additional expense to its low-cost business model and limited markup structure.

    Wahoo! Finally.

  2. raquel-1

    Yay! I’d love that option!

  3. Diane

I let my Costco membership expire and switched to Sam’s Club since they offer curbside pickup and Costco didn’t.

      Me too!

BJS has been offering this for a bit now
Its great! They do not charge a fee nor do they have a minimum you have to spend.
They only down fall is they do not shop for “hot” food (ie rotisserie chicken)

  5. Rebecca

I used this service yesterday. It was so quick and no hassle. I didn’t mind the $10 fee at all. Much cheaper than instacart delivery.

    • Kathy

You had a $10 fee for BJs? WHat state are you in? Here in Long Island it’s free.

  6. Alex

    CosTCo

    • Heather

Lol get a life, Alex. Typos happen

      • tipaye

Alex wasn’t rude. You may want to examine why you feel the need to act this way 🤔

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Whoops! Thanks for catching! Just updated!

      • Tina

Bahahahahaha! I totally didn’t see that as a typo- I read cos-ty-co. As in costly company cuz I usually don’t leave that store without spending a couple hundred dollars! 😂 that wasn’t a typo at all 😂

        • Bernie

Yep, my mom used to call Costco “the $100 store” because you couldn’t get out of there without spending at least that much. 😂

This is great news. I don’t think that they should be charging for this service. The standard membership is already $60 or so. There are some people who really can’t go inside a store. I know some grocery stores charge, but that’s not in addition to a paid membership.

    • Liz

      I agree

    • Tired Mama

Well, they don’t have their employees doing all the shopping. It says powered by Instacart. So the same people that could deliver, pack, they are literally shopping for you. That fee is smaller than delivery, I’ll give you that. But it’s not like Target where they have their employees do it, and it’s not an added charge. Would really have liked this in our area. Typically Pickup even with Instacart isn’t more than like $5, and then with a tip I get getting to $10…but off the get go, $10 for curbside seems pretty steep. Just my thoughts.

WOWZA!! $10!! that’s crazy!!! I can’t wait until I’m more self sustainable and can stop shopping at stores like this! Their membership is so expensive and I don’t feel like their prices are that low, it’s just they have items I can’t get any other place. I love how many organic choices they have. Sam’s club only has like 1/10th of what Costco has as far as organic

    • Vicky

Get their credit card and upgrade to their membership that rewards you. I haven’t paid for my membership in years because of the rewards always being more than the membership fee. Costco Visa is one of the best cards. We pay for whatever we can with it and pay off the balance monthly. We get rewarded for paying our bills. 🙂

  9. natd22

I will gladly pay the $10. I hate going in there. I CANNOT wait until it comes to utah

  10. witoldyna

I prefer Costco to sams club any time but sams club has a pickup plus you can scan and check out without waiting in lines. I hope Costco will catch up

    • Irene (Hip Sidekick)

Sam’s is definitely leading the way with the scan and checkout concept. I’m sure it’s a matter of moments and more stores like Costco will follow suit. Love these changes in shopping!

  11. Amy

I can’t think of ANYTHING that I hate more than going in to Costco!

    • Irene (Hip Sidekick)

It’s definitely daunting to battle the crowds…and temptations, Amy!

    • Jill

I feel the same way. I love the items in Costco, but hate shopping there.

      • IrishND98

        Jill – my exact thoughts!

  12. Sandra

Costco has ceased the letting you pay with cash or a cc at checkout with a family member or friend, NOT in your home. The same as it used to be. So your friend/family has to pay for you.

  13. lulu

When will it be in NJ, every store around does curbside except COSTCO!!
