The junior’s swim separates are so much cheaper than the women’s (many $14 instead of $21) but they don’t have any modest options 🙁
My daughter’s almost 12 and the kids suits don’t fit her anymore. I used to buy her 2-3 suits/summer (we live in FL and her former family daycare and the summer camp she’ll be attending this year have water activities multiple times per week) for ~$15 each when they went on sale at Justice. We went to Target this past weekend and ended up in the women’s department where we found boy shorts and takinis but at $22-$30 per half suit I’m going to end up paying $100 for two suits this year. Unlike my swimsuits, which last for years due to infrequent use, immediate rinsing and purposefully avoiding sitting on textured surfaces, hers never last more than a season.
I spot checked a few of the more obvious (to me) places to get suits online and Target seemed to be similar or lower priced than other stores – especially ones that have modest options.
Any parents of tweens/teens have any ideas?
It’s been extra hard buying clothes for her lately since her body shape has changed significantly in the last year and fitting rooms in our area are all still closed so I have to stick to places with B&M stores or free shipping on returns while we figure out what departments and sizes fit her best now.

My 12-in-June daughter prefers one-pieces, but my best deals have been from Land’s End (they have some amazing clearance deals occassionally). Costco has great buys on Speedo one-piece suits, and they currently have quite a few for $14.99 PLUS $20 off when you buy 5 apparel items. I’d also check Carter’s (Yes, for BIG Sizes too). They have quite a few, and if you buy 3, you save 50% off all.
Target had a couple of buy one, get one free sales on swimwear through the month of May last year so they do have some good deals there occasionally too.
Old Navy- the have an xxl option that my 13 year old likes. She loved the two piece suits from there, modest, fun and typically you can get them for $10-$15.
Abercrombie Kids is the only place my 12 year old will shop nowadays. We got her a suit there last year, on sale, and though it was a two-piece, it was pretty modest.
