  1. Shopper!

How does the free refill work? Any idea?

Hi Shopper, I got a deal that was posted here probably 9 years ago for a spice caddy with spices. There wasn’t a shown time limit. I had the original sales receipt and emailed the company and ordered an unlimited amount. Yes I still have too many savory and fish seasonings. And no, they are most likely not shared because they are expired and I don’t know the allergen info. It’s hard to toss when it is salt based IMHO.lol. Mine came in a foil type bag with the spice name on them. Downside was no expiry date on the refill bags. And I couldn’t just share the food I made, with no allergy info. My issues were 1) no exact spice bag contents 2) When I emailed and called to get fresh ones for the steak and other seasonings we used more, they had no record of my first order, or the refill. The reason was that part of the company had changed. It wasn’t a big deal, since I did get at least one refill, and there didn’t seem to be a limit on many of the spices, like mint, oregano, and thyme. You can buy a maybe a cuter or more sturdier version at Macy’s on Black Friday, or Amazon, or something for a special deal. But, this comes with common spices, with a refill(s). And the price is good for summer. We are a dill weed family and dill is extremely hard to find, and for under $7 a bottle. If you like dill, Walmart has an organic jar for around $2! Found that on Instacart 🎉 And I think Aldi has dried dill too for a decent price.

And it was Kamanstein spice rack. Grocery Outlet has the Costco sized spice containers for $1.99 up. They also have a large variety of refill type containers of shipping of refills isn’t great. I washed off some of the original labels and used WashiTape to print on new labels.

It says on the free refill page you have to pay for shipping & handling. Any idea what’s the cost on that?

  3. Hipgrandma

I have this rack but usually buy my own spices and refill. Cheaper that way. Don’t remember what shipping was. Another FYI.. I labeled the jar. If you open multiple spices at one time for a recipe you might not be able to identify them and put on the proper lid. Happened to others I know so I labeled right away.

  4. Ann

They have spice racks with 5 yr refills on amazon too.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thank you! I added Amazon as an option!

  5. pokz007

U can get this anywhere..i think?

  6. Tran

I got this a couple years ago. But I remember the shipping for the free refills wasn’t worth it. Reading current comment threads on FB Costco pages, people are saying it’s $8 shipping PER spice.

    • Anu

That’s true Shipping not worth at all and spice is very cheap if you buy online at bulk food

    • Christine

Wow $8 is steep! Nadia sells bagged spices for about .50-$1 at Walmart which would be a much more economical way to refill!

  7. Robin

What are the ingredients in the savory jar?
What are the ingredients in the Herbs de Provence?

  8. Sara

You have to pay for shipping it’s not completely free. And the more spices you add the more you pay. For 10 bags it’s 10$ shipping. I ended up paying 17$ because I ordered more than 10. I’m completely out i waited to order them all together so I won’t pay shipping multiple times but turns out its adds up to your total every time you add more spices
