Not familiar with how smart thermostats can help your energy costs?
Smart thermostats allow you to control the climate in your home remotely, as well as learn from your behaviors, show you energy consumption in real-time, and can even adjust themselves for conditions like hot and humid weather. For instance, you can tell the thermostat to shut off after you leave the house for work, and have it kick back on to make the house comfortable by the time you get home!
Sensi Smart thermostats are Energy Star Certified and work with almost all smart home devices like Alexa, Google Assistant, and more. They are easy to install and work with most existing wiring and can be controlled from anywhere with the free mobile app.
FYI – In Michigan (Consumer’s residential) you have to enroll in their Peak Power Saver program for it to be free.
Thanks for the tip!
Don’t do it! This is how all those people in TX couldn’t change the temperate of their house in the summer. Government having control over your thermostat is not worth a free product you don’t actually need.
lol… oh lord, what a new conspiracy is this. People can literally choose to control the temperature with this thermostat. Texas grid issues was due to its inept state government and deregulated energy industry that can do what it wants, not because of a thermostat.
I bought a programable thermastat a few years ago. Now I have to figure out where I put it. Thanks for reminding me. Never used it. Not sure if I can if it has an app. LOL It was free on amazon with points and you all said it was good so I bought it and never put it on the wall. LOL
Terms and conditions say that the consumer can override whatever setting might be put in by the utility company simply by manually adjusting the thermostat. Sounds ok to me.
We bought a Nest smart thermostat & have hated it! The constant changing of what it thinks our temperature should be is ridiculous, many times our house is crazy cold or uncomfortable hot. We’ve programmed it many times to what we like & it does what it thinks is best. (I’ve even called & emailed about it & it’s apparently working as it should 🙄) We’ve actually had a/c issues this summer & the a/c repair man said that they hate the “smart” thermostats because they actually overwork your a/c unit & can cause problems with them. We just ordered a basic thermostat & it came today. I usually like technology & smart products but I can’t wait to trash this one.
