I love all the Walgreens deals H2S puts together! I had a new experience occur this week while doing an online store pick up order. I wonder if anyone else had this occur. I didn’t receive all the Walgreens Cash Rewards I was expecting on purchases of Pantene, Olay skin care, Old Spice body wash, and Olay body wash. When I chatted with Customer Service, the agent cut and paste the ad info. and it states ” Only available on in-store purchases, excludes Pickup orders.” This is a new wrinkle, a rather unfortunate one for sure. So now we can’t earn WCR on pickup orders?
Hi, L! I’m so glad you enjoy the deals.🙌 Walgreens has a new policy for RRs or Register Rewards. You can only earn them in-store. They are different than Walgreens cash. The Pantene deal was an RR deal meaning you had to do it in-store. I’m so sorry that you found out the hard way.😢
This may be the policy, but my Walgreens gives them to me. They print out when the scan my order before they give it to me.

L, it is really important to understand the difference between RR and Walgreen’s cash. They come from different sources and work very differently. Go to Walgreens.com/help and read up on the coupon policy and go through the questions and answers. Hip2Save has an excellent article on Walgreens as well. It is indeed official Walgreens policy that Register Rewards are issued only on instore purchases. That being said if you place an online order for store pickup and go inside to pick it up there is the POSSIBILITY that you will receive the RRs. If you want to try at the time of pickup ask to be checked out on a register that has a Catalina printer. It is well worth trying.

Something else to add. The reason you probably didn’t get all you were expecting wasn’t necessarily because of the in-store only part. Like missmeliss said, they usually still print and the store usually gives them to you. Last week though, select Crest, select Gillette, Pantene, Olay, Old Spice and Tampax were all part of the same “Deal Of the Week” promo. If a RR did print, it would have only printed 1 per transaction. With the new terrible ad setup, it can be hard to deal when different items are part of the same deal.

Just noticed that Walgreens updated their online order form with a button to turn the “allow substitutions” choices on or off. It automatically chooses “same brand only” which is convenient and you get the chance to change it to “any brand” or “don’t substitute” like usual. That is nice not to have to go to each and every item and choose now!
How do I know which personal care products are included in the bye 3 get a $5 register reward? What I’m wondering is if I purchase Garnier Fructis, L’Oreal elvive and Arm & Hammer if that would work? Thank you.

Sorry about the confusion! The $5 RR is for in-store purchases only. On my Walgreens app, it says “Earn $5 in-store rewards when you buy 3” and shows a picture of $3.99 Colgate Toothpaste (specifically Colgate Total Optic White). Since this is an in-store offer it may include other items not listed so I would look for signs on products in your local store, Sandy.

I think there might be an error on the Advil congestion post. The 20-Count is on sale for $11.79 each by me. The 10 count is on sale for $4.49 each, but it does not generate the RR’s. I am in the Chicagoland area.
