This Reader Saves Money By Making Fruit-Infused Water at Home
Looking to sip on something?
While some love water, some really struggle with the lack of flavor. You can opt for flavoring packets, but some of them are a little pricey. However, this week’s Happy Friday reader Jeanette is sharing how her fruit-infused water is helping her drink more water!
My family loves flavored water, but the prices of sparkling or flavored water have gone up so much! The idea of buying a soda stream seems intimidating. So, I have opted for fruit-flavored filtered water as a substitute.
If you have a Brita filter that you use in your own home, simply buy a reusable container for infused fruit. You then can have flavored water for a great price year-round! The container that I have is a Tupperware brand, but there are a lot of them for sale. I added frozen cherries to mine.
You can mix and match your flavors. with a variety of fruits and vegetables. Even adding herbs would be fun! The options are endless. My container fits perfectly on the door of my refrigerator. It holds 2L. I recommend refreshing the fruit every week or so.
I reuse my fruit two or three times before it loses its flavor. But, that’s an individual assessment. With this infused water, the hope is that we will drink more water. That is a win-win with the price tag of this drink!!!
Jeanette, thanks for sharing this Hip and easy tip! There’s nothing more refreshing than some fruit and veggie-infused water. Plus, it saves us a trip to the store without purchasing flavor packets.
Drinking more water has so many great benefits. Our team did a 30-day water challenge a few years ago where we aimed to get 64 oz. of water each day for an entire month. We noticed a ton of great benefits including improved circulation, better digestion, and an overall sense of better brain health. Many team members mentioned having more energy, less unhealthy cravings, and even better skin.
Getting 64 oz. of water a day was a challenge for some of us and using fruit-infused water was a big help in making our beverages more appetizing. Not only does the water taste delicious but it looks pretty too! In addition to using a Brita water filter, you can also use a jug with a built-in infuser like this 2-Quart Glass Water Pitcher With Fruit Infuser or this hand-held 32 oz. Grosche Rio Water and Drink Infuser.
We hope you found these ideas to be helpful! Thanks again for the great tip, Jeanette! 🙌

Try making frozen smoothies!
Lemon and mint leaves!
That sounds yummy too, Dana! Thanks for sharing! 🍃🤗
I just put a few chunks of fruit into my water bottle & eat the fruit when I get to the bottom that way I’m getting the water plus my fruit too. I also use peppermints to flavor my water as well as lemons. The possibilities are endless.
Thanks for sharing how you flavor your water, Liz! I agree that there are so many fun flavor possibilities! 🙌
Sliced cucumbers is a fav in this house.🥒
I need to try this. I am lucky if I drink one glass of water a day. 90% of my liquid is homemade coffee. LOL
LOL! Same here, Patricia! 🤣 Cheers! ☕️
I need to try this just because I love orange flavored anything. But I have read in several places that you do not need that huge amount of water every day and drinks that contain water like tea and coffee count as to how much you drink each day.
My Tupperware container came today & I’ve got my Fuji apple water going! I cannot wait to give it a try!
Yay! Enjoy! 🥰🙌
I’ve tried a lot of the different water combinations above but am wanting some new ideas! If any of you have some more flavor ideas to try please let me know.
